'The Vampire Diaries' week-long marathon begins. Will you bite?

Tonight, The CW begins a week-long marathon of The Vampire Diaries, replaying the series’ first 10 episodes, in order, two an evening. Obviously, it’s designed to lure in new viewers or cement fans who came to the show late. As EW’s resident VD recapper, I find myself wondering two things: (1) Is that “over 300 longing looks” line in the promo below actually an exaggeration? (2) Will it work? Not all the networks are airing repeats this week, however, DVR users who can record two shows at once might have an opening. PopWatch poll!

WHY didn’t they do this with Supernatural?? Why does it seem they put Supernatural on the back burner when it comes to promotional material?!

    PS I LOVE Vampire Diaries!

I kind of want to check out Vampire Diaries, but EW pushes the other CW shows (Gossip Girl, 90210 and Melrose Place) so much, that it really turns me off of watching the network entire network… other than Supernatural. Now THAT is an awesome show. The rest of the CW shows seem to focus only on who good looking, but vapid, people are sleeping with. No thank you!

Vampire Diaries is AMAZING! I really was not expecting much, but the story lines are great and the teen angst is actually secondary to the great story lines. Even if you can’t watch this week just DVR the all week and save for a rainy/snowy day this winter! You won’t be sorry!

i wish they would do this sort of thing with more tv shows, run more marathons on weekends or at 6 or 7 pm before primetime

I started watching this show with trepidation, being fearful of a teeny-bopper drama. Teen dramas are fine, just not my thing. This show HOOKED me from the 1st or 2nd ep. It is so thrilling, dark, fast paced, and still wonderfully cheesy. *laugh*

@Bryan – Yes, Why DON’T they do this with SN? It’s very lame. I’ve seen only a handful of episodes this season and I really want to watch them on my tv, not the internet. Not that I don’t love TVD, because I love me some Damon. Dude is fiiiiiiine. Oh, age has only made you hotter Ian Somerhalder. But it really is much better than the Twilight shiz. More depth, better acting.

Thanks for suggesting this show yesterday, I am not a regular CW watcher and while I liked Twilight I would not have watched another Vampire show. But this was good I am hooked and looking forward to tonight. It is what Twilight should have been – interesting, teen love with a good dose of creepy
