One I remember watching was “The Greatest Christmas Pagent Ever” or at least I think that was what it was called. Made in the 80′s – it was kinda like the Bad News Bears takes on the traditional school Christmas Pagent.
EMMIT OTTER’S JUGBAND CHRISTMAS, without a doubt, is the best Christmas Special Ever. Live action movies are too close too call: H in H; Snowglobe; Snow (1 and 2); Santaville (the one w/ D.J. Tanner and Tom Arnold). They are all worthy nominees.
I forgot all about Emmit Otter!
I’ve got it on VHS and DVD.
“We don’t brush our teeth … because our toothache … helps us stay … mean”
“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” from 1983. It was just awesome, but I haven’t seen it on since I was about 8.
Going back a few years and British…Bernard and the Genie with Alan Cumming. Funny and uplifting.
I know it was already mentioned but I loved “It Came Upon the Midnight Clear” though I haven’t seen it in years. Does anyone else remember “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever?” Another classic that they never show on tv anymore. “Hey unto you a child is born!!!!” =)
