the show’s still top shelf comedy. I can’t see how anyone could watch last night’s ep(or Problem Solvers and Stone Mountain) and say the pace has slowed.
I actually though Stone Mountain was the worst episode ever (or any episode when Kenneth gets crazy and talks with that ridiculous accent that doesn’t sound like anywhere). But then again, I can see Stone Mountain from my house. True story.
Wow. So far, I think it’s been a really good season. Sure, there are hits and misses like any show, most notably Community (which is really back and forth between excellent and not so much). 30 Rock is easily the funniest show on television right now. I find it’s usually the B plot of 30 Rock that brings it down. Tracey Jordan and his quest for the EGOT was admittedly terrible.
You people are outrageous — last night’s episode was hands down one of the funniest ever.
Tracy’s wife: “Why weren’t you at your son’s birthday party last week?”
Tracy: “I couldn’t help it, there was a better kid’s birthday party up the street”
Between that line; The High-Def camera bit; Frank morphing into Liz; and my favorite — Dr. Spaceman not having sex with his patients, you people have forgotten what funny is!
hey c’mon…the EGOT plot was great. Sherri Shepherd’s wig was a hoot. how many carnival prize teddy bears had to die to make that thing? “I eat batteries…”. great.
I was crying from my mouth it was so funny last night
Me too! I had to rewind the Hi-Def bit because I was laughing so hard my eyes were practically closed…I still don’t think I got the full hilarious effect of Liz’s Hi-Def look!
I haven’t completely dug this season, but it hasn’t been awful. Last night’s episode was this season’s best so far! Absolutely hilarious. I couldn’t stop laughing several times.
The Regular Liz/Psycho Performer Liz battle in the mirror had me crying I was laughing so hard.
“Why don’t you kill yourself!”
I agree with those saying the quality has dropped. Last night’s episode was just okay, and it was hands down the best of the season. All of my favorite episodes of this show are from the first half of the first season.
You guys are crazy! This show is getting better each season no doubt. Its even sharper and wittier than it ever has been. I think the naysayers are just so accustomed to the comedy that they come to take it for granted. Watch any other show then an episode of 30 Rock and you’ll be reminded of how hilarious it is.
the funniest part of this episode was that EGOT is a racist word for black people in tagalog. i cant believe they put that on TV. google it.
30 Rock relies HEAVILY on inside jokes and references… You may get the reference, but not in exactly the way they want you to understand it, and it doesn’t come across as funny to you.
Everyone has a different type of humour that they enjoy. For me personally, 30 rock just hits the spot between intellectual and slapstick humour that makes me lose my voice laughing.
It’s an incredibly good show. And the days for 30 rock are not numbered, I wish everyone would stop turning themselves into an analyst.
