I love Adam so much! Every time I hear him speak, it validates my love. Thanks for this interview, Slezak.
Great interview. I love how you ask good questions and then just get out of the way. I loved hearing about the process. Thank you.
Adam is brilliant, the best singer/entertainer in decades, hot, sexy, gorgeous, intelligent, compassionate, passionate, humble, sweet , truely a great spirit and an inspiration. Sorry there has to be the jealous bashers on here, but it’s all good press, it shows the you have heard of him!! His fame is growing~~ Love you ADam
Michael, You are an interviewer of uncommon skill. I love the way you both ask great questions and also really listen to the answers. You create a safe place for your guest to speak. (And I still say you deserve a Nobel Peace Prize for your post-AI interiew with Danny Gokey. Props man, mad props.)
As Adam has been making his way through the New York interviews, yours was the one I most looking forward to (sorry Jim, but there it is). This was everything I hoped it would be and more. Thank you for another wonderful, insightful, funny, honest and genuinely enjoyable interview.
Alright already, we get it — EW likes Adam Lambert.
And Kris…and Allison…Your point?
I wish EW did more Twilight coverage. We hardly ever hear about that.
couldn’t care less about twilight. yey for a wonderful lambert interview!
Jeez, mina, don’t you know sarcasm when you read it?
Michael, This was a fantastic interview. Loved hearing about individual songs. You bring out the best in our star–thank you!
Only album I’ve ever bought that I like every single song on it.
Really? I mean, really? It’s a pretty broad collection of song genres… there’s gotta be at least 1 clunker. “If I Had You” and “Pick U Up” are both sorta meh.
I agree with Gayer Than Thou, its the only album I ever bought where I love ALL the songs. all of them! Thats gotta mean something… Adams the best!!
It means you haven’t heard enough albums.
I’ve been buying albums since the 60′s, and while I don’t *love* every song on Adam’s album, I at least *like* all of them. Beatles’ White album and Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours probably come in 2nd and 3rd.
I really like “If I Had You.” The way he does the “you-you-diggity-do-you” thing reminds me of that pervy dude on “Family Guy.” Makes me smile. Weakest song for me is “Pick U Up,” but it’s — for me for him for me for him — ok, dawg. But just ok. The two bonus tracks, “Down the Rabbit Hole” and “Master Plan”, are a little precious and calculated, but I’ve heard much worse on many an album.
toFrankSF: The “White Album” trumps “Rubber Soul” for you? Infidel! Loser!
I totally love the song “If I Had You”. I was in Miami last week and it is being played in all of the clubs. They are having dance crews win dance wars with this song and others of Adam’s. It had a great beat and the lyrics are fun.
Terrific interview. Although, with Adam, as always, his mindblowingly articulate self in the face of all the hoopla, it’s never long enough. Love every track on the album, especially Broken Open, so listening to him talk about it was very interesting. Thanks so much.
Thank you thank you thank you!!! Just love Adam speaking, I wish I could speak like him!Wow!
This was very interesting – I enjoyed hearing the background on these songs. Big Gaga fan, so def gonna check out Fever!
Wow. Superb interview. Adam smiles and the world is well. Agreee with you … Music Again is the next hit!
Wow, an 11-part Adam Lambert interview??!! I thought I died and went to heaven. It was a joy to watch. Thank you, Michael Slezak!!
A really great interview between two intelligent and funny men. Love the “cockroach” scenario and the “out of body,” “oh, god, what did I just do?” comments. Enjoyed this interview very, very much. Thanks, Michael (and Adam, too).
Too bad his album is dropping very fast from chart ranking everywhere (itunes, all amazon world-wide, best buy, borders, wallmart etc). Fans should buy a second or more CD to show how much they love Adam.
Michael, thank you for a wonderful interview (but could we revisit and go over the rest of the songs on the album too?) I am struck by the poise and charm and wisdom of Adam, it makes him seem as though he really did live in another era. I respect and admire him so much. It was interesting to hear how the reaction of women like myself who responded to his very sexy performances during the Idol concert tour while knowing he is gay, contributed to that mind set that this is the kind of performer we want him to be (for me, it is) and when the adrenaline high of the AMA’s pushed him to the next level some of those same women turned on him. I have remained 100% supportive and feel that support is more than justified listening to him in your interview. The man, the music, the magic – I love them all!
