True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten, who plays the dimwitted but ab-tastic Jason Stackhouse, celebrated his 33rd birthday this past Saturday in Las Vegas. I was unable to attend as I was in a post-Thanksgiving food coma…and then there was the sad fact that I wasn’t invited. Looking at pictures of the event, it appeared Kwanten remained clothed the entire time, a marked difference in the shirt-optional lifestyle embraced by his True Blood character. It made me a little sad because if anyone’s gonna tackle the red carpet half-naked, it should be this Aussie. Below is visual evidence of Kwanten’s golden torso from this past season of True Blood.

Can’t wait for Season 3 to start.
Did you see him on Chelsea Lately? God he is such a dork in real life. And not in a cute way either. He just seems kind of lame and boring. That DOES show that he is a great actor cuz he is a FAR cry from the hotness that is Jason Stackhouse. Does he like boys? It appears he does. A complete disappointment. I cant wait for Jason Stackhouse to show up again. He could get it. Ryan Kwanten? Not so much.
Completely agree! I was really surprised at his complete lack of humor. Had the same thought as you – that his acting skills are quite good because on True Blood he’s a man with some personality to him.
He really came off as a humorless dud in that interview. I don’t know if he just didn’t get her or if he was having a bad day or what. Eric Bana was on the next day and was the total opposite. Funny, self-deprecating, charming.
Watching/reading interviews featuring Ryan, it’s clearly evident that he’s just a shy introverted guy. I’ll admit he’s definitely not the most entertaining celeb out there, but I prefer that over the fake famewhores that litter the red carpet. Lame? Nope.
If anything it makes his turn as Jason all the more impressive as he’s the antithesis of Jason.
Hate True Blood. Love Jason the manwhore.
I dont have HBO, but saw the clip where he is dancing in his underware in a mask while some guy films him. I hope he likes boys, I still have a shot.

I know I am strange for saying this, but I don’t find him attractive. When watching True Blood, I’d much rather see Andy (the drunk cop) topless and naked, not Jason.
I LOVE Jason Stackhouse and I am competely obsessed with True Blood. All this nonsense with Twilight….real vampires DO NOT sparkle!!!
