More fun with Thanksgiving clips: 'Seinfeld,' 'Gilmore Girls,' 'WKRP in Cincinnati,' and more

Categories: Happy Holidays

PopWatchers, there are so many fun Thanksgiving clips, I couldn’t narrow down the list. Enjoy.

C.J. asking Bartlet to pardon another turkey:

Debbie Downer:

A very Walsh Thanksgiving from original 90210, complete with grumpy Kelly and moody Brenda:

The last part of Cheers’ “Thanksgiving Orphans” episode:

Sydney goes to prostitute Thanksgiving on Melrose Place:

Jerry and Kramer watching Mr. Pitt struggle with the Woody Woodpecker balloon:

A drunk Sookie on Gilmore Girls:

And finally, WKRP In Cincinnati’s “Turkeys Away” in its entirety:

What’s the ultimate Thanksgiving clip, PopWatchers? I’m all ears.

Please. The WKRP Turkey Drop reigns supreme!!
As God as my witness I thought turkeys could fly

It’s been decades since I first saw that episode and I will never stop feeling sorry for poor Les but the visual it conjures up makes it the winner here!

On another note: this exchange in The West Wing clip you posted might give the producers of next year’s Academy Awards pause: CJ:” The pardoned turkey gets to go live in a children’s zoo, the runner-up gets eaten”. President Bartlet responds,”If the Oscars were like that, I might watch.” Love it.

“Giblets for Murray” from Mad About You. Come on, it involves a turkey being thrown out a window into NYC traffic, and a turkey being stolen from a hallway.

  • Hayley

The Thanksgiving Play in Addams Family Values, OBVIOUSLY.

    • pop

i sing that song every thanksgiving when we’re about to cut the turkey! best movie thanksgiving moment!

    • Angie

I’m giggling at the thought. “Eat me! Today is Thanksgiving day!”

  • Alex

Oh Gilmore Girls, how I miss you.

  • Popservations

    @Alex, I second that emotion.

But my favorite Thanksgiving episode is “A Moveable Feast” from “Will & Grace,” Season 4. Will, Grace, Jack, and Karen climb into a car to visit each of their respective families, and is a real classic.

  • Angie

  • the dude

wkrp is the best and it always will be

  • izzi

thanks for this collection and walk down memory lane

I love drunk Sookie! But the funniest is Newhart’s Thanksgiving (moo goo- goo goo…) I think it edged out WKRP for my fav. Thanksgiving episode.

    • SusanS

      More goo to go!

  • mike

Some of the others were very good, but when Les Nessman describes the turkeys plummeting to the ground is one of the funniest things Ive ever seen on television.

  • Vicki

Oh, drunk Sookie… Love Melissa McCarthy!

  • becca

WKRP is the most iconic Thanksgiving TV. My family took a break from making food and preparing for company to watch the episode together this morning.

  • Abby

WKRP is one of the best shows ever – consistently funny from the first episode to the last.

  • kse

Oh, the humanity… the Pinedale Shopping Mall has been bombed with live turkeys! WKRP still rules!

  • Maddi

How about President Bartlet calling the Butterball hotline?! “I do radio advertisements for… products”

    • Laura

That one was great…And then the yelling out to the secretary to look up the zip code…I miss the West Wing.
