Back when House was on drugs his mean, antisocial,manipulative, “all people lie” attitude was interesting because he was a tortured genius. Now he’s just an occasionally whiny ahole. The team is no longer a team, just a few people who work together and hate their boss. Plus, after all this time, the “random diagnosis, cut something out and see what happens” approach to medicine is coming across as just incompetence. It’s dead, Jim.
Agreed, regguy. Add to that that the team members don’t like each other very much, either. Would you yell at someone if they asked you for Thanksgiving dinner? Realistically, you’d say “Wow – that’s nice of you. That sounds great…” and then come up with an excuse later on. House being an a-hole is getting old, too. He could be snarky and smart without being a jerk all the time. Also – they have to get rid of the “Wilson says something at the 48 minute-mark that makes House stare and realize what his patient’s problem REALLY is” plot resolution.
this isn’t so much a review as a complaint. house/cuddy should never get together. it would ruin the show. plus, i like lucas (tho i liked him more as house’s PI). chase is the only other interesting character on the show. foreman is so one-dimensional. he thinks he is as good as house but proves all the time he’s not. 13 is boring & taub is stupid. sounds like i hate the show huh? actually, i don’t. i love it! wilson is awesome & the dynamic he has w/ house is fantastic! agree we need more andre tho!!
Let me start out by saying that House is my FAVORITE show. That being said, I cannot stand Lucas as Cuddy’s boyfriend. Totally unbelieveable and makes House seem like a whiny twit. Cameron was the most compelling character on House’s team and now she is gone. Of all House’s past “interests”, I would like to see Mira Sorvino’s character too! House dating a ‘shrink’ who can match wits with him…WORKS! As much as I would like to see House and Cuddy be together, I think it needs to wait but can we also get House’s backbone back?
I wanna see house with a very hot woman around his age who is nothing like cuddy.
I don’t have any residual Huddy feelings. All I have is annoyance that the House writers have demonstrated again how hopeless they are at writing romantic plotlines.
I agree that House’s friendship with Wilson is the only “relationship” that works on the show; it’s the only one that seems to be natural rather than forced.
The Huddy scene that seems to have the most potential in Season 6 was the 80′s dance–where they were honest and direct with each other. It would be great if the writers could explore that a little further and do away with the silly plot devices like Lucas. Mix that up with the great fun exchanges between House and Cuddy like those in a recent video called something like Huddy Compilations (?) can’t recall the exact name of it but it was fast paced, beautifully edited and very entertaining. Also explore the Wilson-House relationship as a continuation of what we saw in the most recent episode. Bring House back into therapy with either Andre Brager (is that his last name) or Mira Sorvina’s character. I think House’s team has potential for the most part. Foreman’s episode where he dealt with homeless woman (can’t recall when that happened) and helped her forgive herself for causing the death of her husband and son were extraordinarily beautiful. Taub is an interesting character and should be expanded more. Ok enough for now. Thanks to everyone for their great posts.
