I had a bad feeling that Mya wouldn’t win because the judges didn’t like her free style dance last night. To think that the hightest scorer (and my only reason I watch this season) would lose due to one bad dance. Talk about a upset. All well, what can you do about it. It “Dancing With the Stars”, not the SuperBowl.
What is with the outrage? I’m sorry but I’m lost, its a show on television, “oh I”m never watching again! I’m so mad!”
if you want to be upset, be upset but dont act outraged please, when their are so many real problems to worry about in this world
Preach! Seriously, those who are sooooooo outraged over the outcome will be back here next season. These written tantrums truly are juvenile. And as was said, it’s a reality show and there are way worse problems in the world. Why don’t you channel your outrage to things (starving children, child abuse, etc.) that need your “outrage.”

Kelly was NOT entertaining. She seemed to whine EVERY week about her petty problems, and it was annoying. It stood out far more to me than any of her dances that the judges loved. Mya was the best technical dancer, but she had no showmanship, no charisma when she was on the floor, and there was no chemistry between her and her partner either.

Donny wins – is ANYONE surprised? I am not. I liked Kelly, but I didn’t want her to win – if we are all going to shout about improving and non-experienced dancer making it, then there were a lot of others (ex: Natalie) that should have been there with her…so it is not Donny’s or Mya’s fault she was up against them. That being said – the fact that Donny lost is hilarious – and the show keeps wondering why their viewership has been going down for a while – maybe if they actual dancers won, people would keep watching.

Mya is a professional dancer. She was with Grease and another show. Donny and Kelly are not. Donny deserves to win.
Are you kidding me? Donny’s been performing his whole life! Mya has natural talent but she isn’t a professional dancer. Tap dancing doesn’t count.
how does tap dancing not count? have you ever even taken a tap lesson? it’s actually closer to some ballroom dances (jive, for example) than some other forms of dance. tap is very difficult and requires great precision and rhythm.

So you saiding that the best dancer according to the overall scores throughout the enter season didn’t deserve to win? The next thing you be telling me that the best football team with a unbeaten season doesn’t deserve a championship because they wear ugly uniforms.
If they lose the Super Bowl after an undefeated season, then yes. Much as I hated it, the Patriots lost after an undefeated season full of constant record-breaking. So you’re point is moot. You can’t just win the most games, you have to win the big game. That’s when it counts.
Donny had a show while doing the show. Singing and dancing. and that doesnt make him a professional dancer? i thought the two finalists would have been Mya and Aaron.
Ew! Aaron can’t dance! He redeemed himself once, but that was in is entire time on the show! We need someone on the show with charisma and the technicality. Someone with no prior dance experience so that nobody can complain, which I know that I am guilty of as well.
He is NOT a professional dancer. He is an entertainer that happens to dance a little bit. What he does on stage during his show is no professional dancing.
No, that doesn’t make him a professional dancer. Professional dancers take dance lessons all their life and do it as a living. Dancing is just part of Donny and Marie’s singing act. Yes, he’s a professional singer, not a professional dancer.
Mya also was in the movie “Chicago” and “Shall We Dance” – the latter required her to do a ballroom routine. She’s more of a trained dancer than Donny – he’s more of a performer/singer. Definitely not trained, complicated routines. But who cares. I was entertained…plus seriously, it’s just a stupid glitter trophy.
She was also in the Chicago movie doing a dance routine!

Yeah! Finally someone who deserves to win, wins! I was so aggravated over Gilles’ loss last season,(he should have won), but Donny’s win makes up for it.
I don’t even see how you can place Donny “My hair Plugs Have Never Looked Better” next to Gilles.

I absolutely agree. Watching Osmond dance, is like watching paint dry. I can’t stand Him and his goofy look. Absolutely no sex appeal WHATEVER, YUK!

No, Donny isn’t in the same category as Gilles…..Donny won DWTS, Gilles didn’t.
Gilles and Shawn were close last season, but he blew it at the last second on his freestyle. Shawn proved that she could do it. They both had the ability to perform when it came down to it. This year, only Donny could make his presence truly known on the dance floor.
The fact is I couldn’t get through to vote last year for Gillies and this year for Mya. Makes me wonder if the winner is already predetermined.
I agree!!! Sad Gile didn’t get it last year; but definitely happy Donny won. He was fun to watch and he has such a sunny disposition.
I agree with Chris. What a bunch of BS. Mya was clearly the best. They have to change the way people vote. The public should vote for who they want off the show every week, not who to keep.
I’m agreeing too. This is sad… really. I supported Mya from the very beginning but I had a feeling that Mya wasn’t going to win. Some of you all are making it seem like she didn’t learn anything from this, which I’m sure she did. She’s a great dancer and I’m glad she did her best but her partner, he known not to play it safe like that during the freestyle… ugh Hairspray?!?

I am so happy that I was able to find a site that I could express my pure disgust with Dancing With the Stars. I am officially protesting. I will never watch again. This is nothing more than a popularity contest. Why do they make it seem like it’s about talent? BOOOOOO!

Uh, that’s quite a sweeping statement you are making. I didn’t like Mya but ALL of my votes went to Mel B in her season every week. Obviously they both made it into the top three so *someone* is voting for them…

I’am so sick of people playing the race card. Move on and stop whinning.
Not that I know for sure race was a factor in this case, but only people who live in a bubble feel that race does not still sway the decisions of some people. Yes, we have a black president, but did you hear some of the racist statements at the Palin rallies? I did not watch the show, but I did see some of the dances on YouTube, but I thought that Mya did have personality. Not everyone can kiss up to the cameras, or feels comfortable doing it the way Donny does. She is also not a “perfect” dancer. She made mistakes, and you could tell that she wasn’t a trained ballroom/latin dancer. Donny wasn’t bad at all, but I would rather watch Mya any day. Without even seeing it, I don’t know why they chose Hairspray, but I still would have voted for her.

Haha…So this honestly was my first time watching the show (my mom kept telling me to watch it all these seasons and I finally did) – and it sure will be my last.
I am so happy for Donnie. Yes, half the battle was popularity, but that is true all season for all contestants. Frankly, I think it is absolutely wonderful to see him win. He is 50 years old, has been out of the mix for years and yet came back and proved that he truly is still able to be a good sport and showman.
Kelly did an amazing job and I was thrilled to see her progress over the season.
Mya was amazing and I enjoyed watching her develop her skills over the season also.
This show is not all about the dancing skills, so yes, any of us could say this one was more talented at dancing than that one, but hey, from day one the rules said you have to get voted into the next week and half the final vote is based on popularity. So, the winner this time is Donnie – congrats!
you and all the judges should have a finger stuck up their bigoted asses and they should be fired. This was a clear act of discrimination, plain and simple. They even admitted she nails it all the time so why not pick her. There will never be a black female winner on this show, Never!

The judges were unanimous with their votes for Mya but Donny had almost 75% of the viewers votes which made him hands down the winner…It came down to the people’s votes and not the judges.
The judges scores for Monday and Tuesday were EVEN!!

It is neither a dance contest nor a popularity contest, it is a television show put out for entertainment! I usually don’t vote, and this year was no different.
I probably would have voted for Donny, but only if he was getting the job done, and he did. He entertained me. Mya (actually Dimitry) blew it on the freestyle, and on the last dance, to me it was short and gimmicky. She wasn’t my favorite (just personal) but there were several other dances that I had to admire from her, that one always felt cheated to me.
