Best move of the night: Princess Sparkle, groovin’ to herself during the “starting lineup” song at the beginning of the show. Worst move: Still Woz’s Worm. Okay, I really need to get to work.

  • GoMe!

I was really rooting for Kelly…but I’m happy for Donny. All 3 were great! What a great season!!!

  • Ama

First Gilles, now Mya. I am never watching this show again.

    • carmen

mya was robbed. i agree whole heartedly. this show is a joke.they should call this who’s the most popular celeb

      • Denise

Except that both Shawn and Donny did better on their freestyle dances (according to the judges, and I agree). Mya took her partner’s bad advice about doing a Hairspray number, and Gilles did a Flashdance number which featured his partner rather than him.

      • David

I agree, Mya is the best dancer and should have won, hands down. When this happen it makes it really makes the show look like a popularity contest and not a DANCE contest. Very disappointing.

      • Gerald Scholtes

Hello! Its called dancing with the Stars. Not the best dancer show. Fans call in an vote. And there are an awful lot of OSMONDS. But I picked him a month or so ago.

      • alice

i agree with carmen and the others who feel the same way. this has now become a popularity contest, mya is hands down the better dancer, and donny should have been cut a long time ago.

      • SHEILA

I thought Mya was the best, but I was really voting for Kelly because she was the most improved.I knew Donnie would win because of the popularity but I don’t agree because he has been in show business all his life so he already knew how to dance.

      • Gus

If you think this is a dance show you are WAY wrong. The reason they have the public vote is because it IS a popularity contest. If it was a dance competition they would have a panel of judges do ALL of the judging.

      • Mari

why is everyone surprised about it being a popularity contest, it always has. I didn’t want Donny to win, but I figured he had a great chance because of all of Utah was voting for him. I was rooting for Kelly because she seemed the most improved. Mya was already a dancer so she was one step ahead of the competition.

      • dj

Ideally, the fans get input, but this fan could only get two votes in, and they closed my area after only a half hour on the night before the finals. I know some who couldn’t get in at all. You can probably figure out that my two votes weren’t cast for Donny, although I don’t mind that he won, I feel cheated. ABC would benefit from a calling system more like FOX.

      • jonny

You Damn straight she was robbed. I wish I could protest this farce of a competiton. No one wants to admit that a black woman was the best. Who else could dance that fierce and sharply? It was all planned that way. Notice how even when Mya got great reviews from the judges and was told she was marvelous they still found a reason not to vote for her. Donny’s dance on Monday was laughable. What was he doing that was out of the ordinary? he was on the dance floor just doing what most people do, yet miraculously he, all of a sudden gets a 10 a surges past Mya. They said the viewers votes count for half of the vote and the judges, the other half, so now Donny is ahead of Mya. She was better than all of them, Kelly was just getting bye. Clearly Bias. I’am officially through with Dancing with the Stars. The Judges should get a finger up their asses and be fired. I’m outraged!

      • oye

        Mya is black???

      • Terri

If you don’t like the results, it’s not the fault of the show. The tv audience does half the voting. The judges always went with Mya. You are acting so immature.

      • Lola

Like if the best dancer wins on every season, stop complaining geeks!

      • lb

if DWTS plan to become a popularity contest and they certainly is on its way, then it’s risking to lose rating and audience as it will be more a show of “Revival of Forgotten Celebrities…Oh, and Dance!”
Gilles was robbed and now, Mya. if only free style and last night performance count, then why spent weeks judging? the most consistent and well perform candidate deserves the trophy! otherwise, just broadcast a Vegas show, with dancers. Donny Osmond possesses great showmanship so he should’ve receive the trophy on the first night since he’s been in the entertainment industry longer than the rest of the candidates.
two disappointing seasons delivered by DWTS!

    • Lime

Donny and Mya both had the same judges scores tonight…so how is it unfair? He was more popular and peaked at the right time. The difference with Gilles and Shawn was that there was only a 1/2% difference in their votes – they had the same judges scores as well. I have a sneaking suspicion that Donny had a much larger lead of votes. I was rooting for Kelly but I’m not sorry Donny won.

      • Delores

Why it’s unfair: His sister works for ABC…isn’t that a conflict of interests. He cried and complain about why he should win. He was a bully throughout DWTS by hogging the camera every chances he had.

      • panzer48

Donny PEAKED about 25 years ago! Two weeks ago he looked like a fool tripping over his partner’s dress…utterly laughable! He won because he’s Donny Osmond….not because he can dance

    • Meg

It’s not just popularity, it’s a combination of technical performance(Mya’s strong point), and charisma(which was totally not Mya, but very much Donny’s area). In the end, it’s more the charisma then technicality that matters, because very few people know all the technical aspects of the dances.

    • ethel

it’s not so much about dancing it’s about pandering to the cameras and pleasing the fans

      • Duh

Well people, you forget, IT IS A PAPULARITY contes. Get real, and Mia didn’t do as well in her final free style as she (and all of the rest of you) think. The best dancer did win.

    • Sally in Chicago

I agree Gilles should have won. But you notice a person of “color” hardly ever wins…only Emmet Smith won….and women have a hard time winning because the audience is mainly women and they vote for men (pretty boys)….like AI.

      • cookie

If women have a hard time winning, how come the last three winners have been women????? Shaun, Brooke and Kristi?????

      • Naih

“But you notice a person of “color” hardly ever wins”!!! Are you serious?! What about Apolo Ono? Helio Castroneves? Kristi Yamaguchi? Brooke Burke? Emmet Smith makes 5 of 9 people of color winners. What color should they be? Your argument is stale and weak.

      • Julie

You need to watch some of the previous seasons again before you make either of these comments. I’m not sure what show you have been watching, but many women have won and a number of persons of color have won.

      • kiki

So true!!! Let me see, Laila Ali, Mel B, and now Mya!!!! Do you see a pattern here?

      • Lorie

Seriously??? We have a “black” man in the white house. GET OVER the whinny race thing!

      • Mari

don’t make this about race, it is not. It is popularity and wether people vote or not. Most likely if someone’s favorite leaves those people might not feel like voting for someone else. What you’re implying is that people need to vote based on the color of their skin. That is crazy.

      • Delores

Women of color like Ali, Lil Kim, Mel B and now Mya. Some people play ignorant but it’s called denial.

      • JOBob

Ali, Lil Kim, and Mel B lost because someone else was better not because of a race issue.

      • Bama

Kristi(best contestant ever) was not white. I don’t know why you are race baiting. But with all of that aside, the best 2 this season were Mya and Joanna.
If this were biased against persons of color, how did Michael stay in long after his dances should have allowed?

    • David

I totally agre, Maya should have won. This is not a dancing contest, it is a popularity contest. Very disappointing. It is really turning this show into a joke.

    • kiki

Exactly my thoughts!!!! WTH???? Really? Donnie Osmond???? Come on America,it’s no longer “Puppy love” time!!!!

    • st

      Waa, Waa

    • Glenn

Now this show has become a joke and it wastes all of our precious time watching. Unless WABC changes the rules, I am NOT going to watch future episodes.

      • Kate

        No one will notice.

      • Carlymom

Oh, Glenn…I’ll miss you terribly. Did you not have something better to do in the first place?

      • rachel

Gee Glenn….if your time is so precious why would you “waste” it in the first place? Go ahead and boycott ABC. No one cares.
Over and over during the show, they tell you to call and vote for your Favorite Celebrity. It’s a popularity contest. Period. Donnie and Kellie both had charm and personality. Mya was very talented but too snooty and not likable.

    • Cathy

I agree! I was shocked that Mya did not win. DWTS is done!

      • jonny

Amen. I’m done too! No more DWS. I have no respect what-so-ever for the Judges. Notice how they kept praising Donny, but Mya was better than all of them and she keeps getting criticized by the “Stupids” for already having dance experience. Hello Dummies! How many times has a celebrity on the show say how hard and demanding and different this training is. Mya had no ballroom training yet everyone is crying she had an unfair advantage. She worked her butt off more than anyone. She even told Demitri, jokingly, he was late. she was always ready to put 120% in!

    • Amber

I AGREE!!!!!!! It’s turned into a popularity contest!!!! Gilles & Mya were by far the best dancers…and consistent.

  • Theresa

I agree Ama. I really cannot believe it!

  • chattypatra

I am thrilled for Donny. I think Mya thought she had it in the bag. Once again, the freestyle dance clinches the win. I loved that Donny carried his wife over to the dance floor. Congratulations, Donny and Kym, you deserve the win!

    • jonny

You should get a finger up your narrow minded ass as well as the Judges.DAH!

      • Anna

Why so vulgar Jonny? What did Chattypatra say that merits a finger up the ass?

  • ASH

I would have been nice to actually see Donny’s full reaction. Why did they have to cut off the end of the show so quickly?

    • Jen

I heard this morning there was a small fire on set at the end, which could be why they cut it off so quick at the end.

  • Jenn

yessssssssssss. Love you, Dmitry, but next time I hope you get a partner with more personality and who actually looks like they enjoy dancing with you. Congrats Donny…moreso Kym, but I was rooting for you too…and Kelly and Louie are possibly my favorite couple, not for their dancing, but for their spirit. Louie’s crying made me tear up!

  • Hazyboop

No surprise there. This was very anticlimatic

  • Nancy

Add me to that list with Ama and Theresa. Gilles should have won and Mya should have won. This show pisses me off now. I’m not even watching tonight.

  • Julia

Thank goodness I don’t watch these things live.

  • mojo3

Donny SHOULD NOT have won! Mya was better and should have been the WINNER. Truly disappointed in the judges final decision. Will not watch show again!
Noticed also…Donny and his partner were left for the last to dance. When, in essence, Mya, scored more points than he did last night. Shouldn’t she have been the last to dance? Finally, why is he singing a song. Why not someone else? Better yet. Let he and Mya do a duet. Too much favoritism for me. Not fair.

    • Jake

It isn’t so much the judges votes that determines who wins the dance contest. Remember, they ask the public to call in and vote and that is where the majority of the star’s get their votes.

    • tntwise24153

Mya and Dimitri did not bring their best to the table for finals. If they had chose to do so, their free style would have had more latin moves AND they would have danced together more than separate. This team heard the judges comments; they knew how much higher they scored on the more seductive dances, yet they danced to Hairspray? Even Len wondered why they openend themselves up to comparision with the original cast. Not a winning situation at all.

Kelly and Louie were better than any of the other dancers. Louie took and untrained, uncoordinated young woman and coached her all the way to the finals. If Kelly hadn’t of fell on Monday, they very well might have won. I think that a latin dance rather than the waltz as final dance might have edged them over Mya and Dmitry, too. Or, Kelly might have fell. Either way, when you compare her progress and performances (the choreography got more complex as her skills improved and they didn’t just rehash the same moves over and over),
Kelly DID epitomize the spirit of the show. Both Mya and Donny had prior dancing and showbiz experience.

      • angela

You can’t be serious. Kelly and Donny should have been cut weeks ago. Agaijn I can sense the racial bias attitude you have. That free style dance Mya did was excellent and did not have any factor in whether she should have won You know and everybody watching knew Mya should have won. You can come up with any defense you choose, we all know who the real winner should have been. Stay strong Mya!

    • Julie

The judges don’t make the final call. It’s averaged in with the previous nights scores from both the judges and the audience votes. If it would have been the judges, Mya would have won for sure. They loved her dancing (rightly so – she was great).

    • st

Boo hoo mojo3….not fair, whinney. It was very fair, the judges were fair and all the viewers have the right to vote they want, not on which one you want.

      • Delores

Maybe if Mya would’ve boo hoo like Donny maybe she would’ve won last night. What a total joke.

      • angela

did you personally see the total viewers votes for Donny? no you nor anyone else did. say what you want You know Mya should have won.

    • Noel

It all boils down to the fans. That is the problem. If it is a dance contest, let the professional judges judge. If it is a popularity contest, takes away merit from the dance.

  • chichi

I knew he had it in the bag as soon as America allowed what he calls “dancing” to continue into week two.

It has been way too long since a dancer with actually talent has held that mirror ball.

    • graeme

kristi yamaguchi was AWESOME. Totally deserving winner.

      • Alicia

        Not really.

      • Just reflecting…..

…. that Kristi obviously had a lot of the same kind of artistic training & experience (as a figure skater, which is balletic as well as athletic) for which people slammed and seemingly hated Mya. But people LIKED Kristi, which also goes to show that personality always counts. It’s not just the dancing.

  • Kelly

Mya was too good from the start. She already danced like a professional in the first show. That plus her lack of personality meant there was nothing to root for. This happens almost every season and that person never wins… Mario, Gilles, Sabrina, Stacey…I know she was the “best” dancer but I didn’t want her to win. I would have been happy with either Donny or Kelly. Both have come a long way, grown so much over the season, had to bounce back from mistakes and had winning personalities.

    • Alicia

Ok, Then why don’t they just name it “Most Improved Dancing With The Stars.”

      • Kelly

They don’t call it “Best Dancer with the Stars” either. It’s America’s call. Just like So You Think You Can Dance isn’t the “best dancer,” it’s “America’s Favorite Dancer.” Likewise, AI isn’t called, “Best Singer” but “American Idol.” The favorite wins. That’s just a fact. Mya was great, she just didn’t get people to vote for her enough. It’s not like she was up for the Noble Prize, it’s a Mirrorball Trophy.

    • Alicia

You say “it isn’t the Nobel Prize, it’s a Mirrorball Trophy.” That is the answer when you know the outcome is wrong. From your logic they should just advise the good dancers to not waste their energy.

      • Kelly

I said, “It isn’t the Noble Prize” because it’s not that deep. It’s a cheesy television show. The outcome was up to the viewers and they chose accordingly. The outcome is “right” or “wrong” according to the viewer. It’s not “my logic” it’s just how reality television works when America decides. Sorry your “favorite” didn’t win but that’s the price you have to be willing to pay if you watch a reality show competition.

      • Kylene

Why not give Mya the Nobel Prize? They seem to be handing them out at random this year.

      • Sam

Kelly is right…every reality show is a popularity contest. I can’t tell you how many times the winner of SYTYCD has been a better personality over the actual better dancer. It’s just the nature of the beast. My wife actually votes for Dancing with the Stars with the professional in mind too. She loves Derrick and Julliana and votes for their partners in past seasons because of them. This year, she thought Kym did an amazing job with Donny. So we have to factor in the professional partner’s popularity as well.

      • Delores

Kylene: Why you’re bring politics into this? Jealous?

      • RC

Kylene — Bitter, much? Get over it… It’s done.

      • Kylene

It was a joke – get over it.

    • paige

      calm down ladies

      • Kimmie G

        Hee, hee. :)

      • Mark

Kelly seems calm, Alicia seems has sour grapes. Kelly is right, it’s a reality show and your personal favorite might not win but that’s the price you have to pay in watching. I personally liked Joanna and thought she was a better dancer than Kelly Osbourne yet she didn’t even make the final three. I accept that this is due to her lack of fan base. I am happy with whomever wins because the “prize” doesn’t really matter… these c-list celebs are all trying to get their careers back, not necessarily win a trophy.

    • Angela

Mya has class, that’s why you did not see her whining and crying and running up to hug and kiss the judges.

    • Cindy

Come on people – they are all popularity contests – American Idol, SYTYCD – they are all popularity votes and the best does not always win but I am glad that Donny won. Kelly should have been 2nd – Mya thinks a little too much of herself.

      • Always

Thats because she is the BEST dancer : )

      • Marsha

Cindy is ignorant and most likely racist…why did the black girl think she can dance. Cindy, Mya can dance and she is pretty yes black people can be cute and dance too…don’t hate!!

  • Mark

Why did I do it to myself? I saw the handwriting on the wall last night and early in the show when the judges gave Donny 30 pts. It is a dance contest not a showman contest. As Ama said, first Gilles, now Mya. Before that it was Mel B. I am done. Never again.

    • K

Its entertainment. take it for what its worth. I love it.In the end will it change your life???

  • Chris

This show is complete BS! The only reason I watched it was 4 Mya & she lost! I still can’t believe it!

    • Anna

But you still got to see Mya’s dancing all the way to the end. It’s just a crappy ass mirror ball trophy, I’m sure Mya woke up this morning knowing she’s the better dancer, can’t that be enough?

  • Alicia

Dancing With The Stars is a crock. It’s official,I will not watch again. Mya was robbed.
