Hey John – is it ‘Chang’ or ‘Cheng’? You use both in the same paragraph – what’s up with that?

Community has been wildly inconsistent for me. I really want to like it a lot. I was looking forward to it before it premiered, but I just don’t think it is living up to its pre-season hype. I don’t think it has been on par with the rest of NBC’s Thursday night comedies. I still don’t want to give up on it though, especially because if I admit that it is not worth watching, I would become even more frustrated over the cancellation of My Name is Earl. Community has a lot of potential, but I don’t think it has reached its full potential yet. I really hope it does. But for now, it is trailing its Thursday night companions and Modern Family.

My favorite line was when Abed stopped in Senor Chang’s office and remarked, “I’m looking for a rat”, right after Jeff had betrayed the group.

Troy and Abed are the best part of the show. This was the best episode yet with lots of LOL moments. My favorite was the very end when Pierce shot them with a tiny water gun full of pepper water! Hillarious!!!

I love them and their closing credit scenes…Pepper Water! LOL

SO HILARIOUS! Troy: who puts pepper in water?!

      LOL.

Week after week, I find myself wondering how this show ever ended up getting the green light. It’s so weird, so awkward, so silly. And that’s why I love it. I know it’s not for everyone, but I’m certainly going to enjoy it as long as the network allows me to.

I absolutely LOVED this episode and laughed out loud numerous times! Pierce falling off the chair, hilarious, the whole rat thing, super funny, Annie and the chugga chugga train- super cute AND funny. And Shirley sweating profusely… funny, funny, funny. I also loved that after Annie called Jeff a handsome Hobo, the next commen was: “You got a weird forehead.” Laugh out loud all the way.

I thought the 3 minute Somewhere out There Montage was the best thing on Television all year..an instant classic..I already watched it 3 times on my DVR!

Editing A++++. That “Somewhere out There” montage – someone needs to win an Emmy for editing that scene. It should be taught in classes on editing. It was…like…wow……
I had the misfortune of watching last week’s Glee (show so overrated), & among its many flaws – editing. One sequence where the “sassy black girl” & Puck are talking & he confesses he is the father of someone’s child, you could tell they had overdubbed the vocal tracks a few times; changed their minds on how the plot was going to go. The voice from the actress in semi profile was coming out of her eyeball & then her next line of dialogue sounded like it was coming from the direction of her chin. The audio level changed within the exchange – so distracting. Awful!
Then I watch Community and see this preposterous premise (rats, sandwiches, the wrong Green Day, etc) with a sappy song and it just blew us all away- it was funny & very moving & just gorgeous.Editing!!( A great cast and OK writing helped .)(Oh and I guess the director had something to do with it too. )
