New 'Alvin and the Chipmunks 2' trailer still light on Zachary Levi

Categories: Movie Trailers, Movies

Very distressing: If we hadn’t been following the mystery that is the development of Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, we’d never know that Chuck’s Zachary Levi has a role in it. He’s still missing in the latest trailer, which focuses more on David Cross, whose character Ian is now in cahoots with the Chipettes, the “Single Ladies”-singing girl group that serves as the trio’s nemesis. (Levi becomes the boys’ temporary guardian when his cousin Dave, still played by Jason Lee, is injured in a freak concert accident and sends them to school — where they somehow have the strength to give classmates wedgies and knock them out in a game of dodgeball.) Should Fox get Levi’s face on this film, stat? Or are we thinking that the movie’s target audience doesn’t give a crap about the “stars,” because their names are Alvin, Simon, and Theodore?

Maybe Levi requested that they keep his face out of the trailers.

      I know I would.

    “In your faces!!!!!”
Gosh, I thought the first one was cute, can’t wait for this one. I’m not even a little kid, but I just think their adorable. Theodore is my fav. And Chipmunk voices make every song better.

I truly hope you’re being sarcastic. If not, may God have mercy on your soul.

Matt1: Just because you didn’t connect with the Chipettes and what they were about because you’re a boy or whatever your reason is for not liking them, doesn’t mean you need to be a jerk to those who do. :/

        I can’t wait for this movie :]

    Do I smell an Oscar? No……No I don’t

Okay, I am almost as old as the Chipmunks themselves, but I can’t suppress a smile watching this trailer (I agree with Mimi any song Chipmunk style is always funny) despite the absence of Levi.

And whoever in the marketing dept came up with Squeakquel and munkyourself.com deserves a raise!

I wish someone would explain to Hollywood execs that recycling ideas doesn’t count as “going green.”

I really did not want to like the first one and didn’t even catch it until it hit cable but it was pretty cute but it’s a kids movie and kids don’t care about a zach or zack unless its Effron…lol.

What is David Cross doing in this movie? You’re better than this David!

Anybody else feel as bad for Jason Lee as I do? The guy was in The Incredibles for goodness sake, surely he can get better work.

I took my daughter to the first one–nobody else in the family wanted to see it. I enjoyed the movie to a point–mostly the musical performances, since the story was stupid. I’ll most likely end up seeing this one, too, and at least Zach Levi is in it to help make it easier to stand.

Alvin was in love with Brittany, who’s in love with him, Simon was in
love with Jeanette who’s in love with him and Theodore was in love with Eleanor who’s in love with him.
