Okay thank goodness there is life out there! I just came from a packed theater where nearly half walked out and the rest I swear stayed for the popcorn because they were all mumbling about this being the weirdest thing they had ever seen. Best kept to an art house crowd, certainly not children!

I totally agree. I thought they did a great job with Independence Day and the models actually looked realistic. With the CGI I feel like I'm watching cartoons.

Why, of course, you hate it so it must be an "American thing"! Sure, narcissistic Americans "in love with their own past" who are film majors are the only ones who can "appreciate something so juvenile and idiotic". Hmmm... Last time I checked people all over the world are in love with stop-motion animation.

I did stop motion animation for both movies and tlevision for 25 years and gave up in 1995 when CGI
took over the movie business. I have always felt it had a much more
visceral appeal than souless vaporous CGI but I have not been
able to interest anyone in a stop- motion project in the past 14 years.
I only wish that films like Mr. Fox were made in Hollywood where all of us out of work puppet animators never get a break.

Must be an American thing to love stop-motion movies. I HATED it! I suffered every single minute through it and swore I will NEVER EVER watch another stop-motion movie. I guess Americans are in love with their past and how they grew up on old black-and-white and stop-motion movies.

I am completely baffled by the good reviews of film critics. I guess you have to be an American who majored in film history to appreciate something so juvenile and idiotic.

The only redeeming aspect of the movie was the smart monologues of George Clooney. But the image on the screen didn't match the voice I was hearing. I had to close my eyes to appreciate the voice because the image was just too disturbing.

Stop motion animation has been done much better, and as for the movie in general, let me put on my fire-proof suit and just say that the emperor has no clothes. I love indie films, but I felt no love for this movie. It was a snore, had no heart, and I never got past, "This is George Clooney, as a fox." If you are just a major fan of Roald Dahl and/or Wes Anderson, go see it - or better yet, save your money and wait for the DVD.
