It has arrived — the item that will singlehandedly revitalize the American economy. Behold the Barbie doll of Twilight’s other teenage heartthrob, Jacob Black. Although my knowledge of dolls may be even less than my understanding of Twilight, I shall proceed to make a few observations. First, this doll actually resembles 17-year-old actor Taylor Lautner, whereas the previously released Bella and Edward dolls hardly approximated their thespian counterparts. That was especially the case with Bella, whose “innocent face,” as Mattel described it, was really just a generic Barbie head plopped on top of the character’s signature blue jacket. Second, while the Jacob doll looks like Lautner, its face is a bit on the younger side. I’m getting a disturbing “13-year-old on steroids” vibe here. Most of the kids I knew in high school didn’t strut around with eight-pack abs; then again, none of my friends were werewolves, or kick-ass martial arts champions for that matter. And third, I want a pair of Jacob’s black shoes, even though I will never be cool enough to wear them sans socks.
Mattel will release the Jacob doll in February for $24.95 (the Edward and Bella versions are available now for the same price). Twilighters, do you plan to grab one and make your Twilight Barbie collection complete? Non-Twilighters…snark away!

i hope those aren’t his best jorts. he wouldn’t want them destroyed when he turns into the big bad wolf
Already have my Jacob preordered, but as a Canadian I am still waiting to receive my Bella and Edward. If you want a doll that really looks like Edward by the more expensive/better quality Tonner dolls. The Tonners are beautiful and their clothes are amazing. Bella still doesn’t look quite right but when you wrap Edward’s arms around her it doesn’t really matter.
“Bella still doesn’t look quite right but when you wrap Edward’s arms around her it doesn’t really matter.”
Thanks for the laugh
were did you order it from?
The Edward and Bella dolls were based on the AUTHORS vision of the character and not on the actors. Maybe it’s the same for this one?
If that were true, this doll would be many inches taller than the Edward or Bella doll, as in the book Jacob is described as growing close to 7 ft. tall and looking in his mid-twenties.
[[Second, while the Jacob doll looks like Lautner, its face is a bit on the younger side. I’m getting a disturbing “13-year-old on steroids” vibe here.]]
Have you even seen the kid the doll is based on? Lautner’s actual mug is much more the epitome of the term “babyface” than the doll’s.
So, so, so true.
yeah, but at least you can tell he’s not 13, he looks closer to 17 that 13 in real life
Um, has no one else noticed that the doll is extremely pale? I thought this kid was supposed to be a native?
He is awfully “pale”…as in, they made the doll white instead of Native American. I would love someone (maybe from EW?) to ask Mattel about this.
Agreed. Taylor Lautner definitely has a darker complexion than this doll, and Meyer’s description of Jacob in the book gave him russet-colored skin. This is very, very disturbing to me. Surely more people are going to notice that Mattel has tried to make Jacob appear more Caucasian.
Well….at least his face looks better in “doll” version…
LOL
first of all I prefer to call him taylor and he looks way better in real life I don’t think the doll looks a thing like him……. and for the person who said his face looks better in doll form whatever HATERS he just looks plain FINE to me:)
Nah, the kid has a nice bod, but his face is seriously NOT attractive at all. Look at the (airbrushed/photoshopped) EW cover – FUG
Jacob IS supposed to be native so I don’t know why the doll is so white. Well I know why…..but i don’t like it a bit
Rascists
it is tooo white
(sp) racists
Thanks for your clever feedback…douche. Try commenting on the article and instead of the spelling.
Gee, Jared, maybe calm down a little. Not a big deal. And, to be fair, I read your comment too, and the only thing I noticed about it was the misspelling of racist.
Wow. It’s…kind of…cute, I guess?
And if you actually look at the photo, you’ll notice that the white background and the glare of the light make the doll look a little whiter than it probably does in real life. Just saying.
WHAT! Not before Christmas…..had just one more spot for one more my wishlist….
ha. me too. But it is odd they release it after Christmas.
hey (jared4ever) why do u like jared so much?? sam looks a lot better and so does jacob
omg he is hot
so lifelike no genitals
dumb, why would anyone want this doll. Not attractive, neither he nor the doll is attractive
do you only buy dolls for attractiveness? that’s kind of creepy…sounds like a fetish to me.
The doll version of him looks better than him.
Does he come with a shirt? If he doesn’t come with a shirt, I think he should be sold at a discount. At least the other dolls are fully dressed.
I think the only thing they got correct is the lack of body hair.
HAH! Love your comment, best (and the most true) so far.
