It’s Friday funday, PopWatchers, so it’s time to prep for your weekend. (T-minus seven hours until it officially begins!) EW’s Nicole Sperling rounded up the weekend’s movie offerings on our Hollywood Insider blog, and predicted that — is this a shocker? — Roland Emmerich’s end-of-days schlockfest will likely draw the most theater-goers this weekend and gather a stunning $65 million at the box office.
None of the other offerings of the weekend will likely be able to touch 2012’s sure-to-be-huge box office haul, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you, our beloved PopWatch readers, are going to see the should-be-in-summer movie. A Christmas Carol, This Is It, The Men Who Stare at Goats, and Precious should all also be hot at the box office. What are you going to see? Let us know in our totally unofficial poll below! (And if what you’re seeing isn’t there, tell me about it in the comments!)

We’re skipping the movies this weekend! Precious doesn’t open in our city ’til next weekend, and if my SO suggested 2012, I’d be filing divorce papers by Monday morning.
One can only hope that the better half gets the EW Website in the divorce…
LOL! Well played.
Saw Christmas Carol last week. Not bad. And I love watching things blow up, so we are definatly seeing 2012 this weekend. You couldn’t pay me to see Precious. They tricked me into watching Monster’s Ball with the same taglines. Not going to happen again!
What was bad about Monster’s Ball…its a great movie.
Lack of monsters perhaps.
Saw This is it….wouldn’t mind seeing it again….none of the others interest me.
Looking forward to 2012. I’ll see Christmas Carol closer to Christmas…
None of the above! I’d rather catch up on my DVR than shell out $10 to see any of these failtastrophies.
none of the above I will stay home and catch up on Fringe and Friday night lights, also I have a Gang War documentary coming from Blockbuster.com
Fantastic Mr. Fox. In fact, I already saw it and loved it. Why isn’t it on the poll? Is this a limited open?
Because it’s not out yet. Not wide anyway. It’s suppose to open on Thanksgiving. That’s what all the commercials I’ve seen have said, anyway.
I saw Xmas Carol last weekend. It was okay, just a tad better than Polar Express and Beowulf in terms of Robert Zemeckis obsession with CGI, but nowhere near as good as the classic.
I just saw both: Precious and 2012. Precious is good, some parts brutal, the acting is very good but the movie as a whole suffers a bit from the director’s pandering methaphors. 2012 was too long but at least it has some entertaining moments, better than transformers for sure.
I’m finally going to see Paranormal Activity this week. And if any of the theaters around here ever get An Education, I’m going to see that too, immediately.
I predicted 2012 will make 2.0 Billion dollar at the box office and they gonna get $10 from me too. I am going to see this for sure. This is the biggest movie of this decade!
“watch music videos, tv, movies on defSpot com’
Something else- I’m gonna go see Fantastic Mr. Fox.
I will be going to see Christmas Carol this weekend & 2012 later. Already seen This is it. Not interested in any the others
Paranormal Activity
I think I’m going to stay home from the movies this weekend & watch some of the ones I’ve bought. I wish “The Fantastic Mr. Fox” was playing where I lived. I can’t wait to see that one. Also, I’m curious about “Men Who Stare at Goats.” The reviews are mixed to say the least. Anyone seen it?
I refuse to pay big bucks for movies with no special effect, however my friend wanted to see Precious so I agreed to go with her. What a depressing movie it was just so dull and depressing I go to the cinema to be entertained not to find new ways to commit suicide. Save your money or give it to charity either way the time is more worth while spent away from this movie.
