Lionsgate has released the teaser for Tyler Perry’s sequel to his 2007 hit, Why Did I Get Married? and it weirdly looks like a horror movie. The original group of squabbling couples are back, including Jill Scott and Janet Jackson, but it appears the drama has been amped up by the exotic locale and fairly intense tagline: “One. Of. These. Couples. Will Not. Make It.” Is there a killer on the loose? Or just someone being really cranky? Hard to tell. It all kinda reminded me of I Still Know What You Did Last Summer in which Jennifer Love Hewitt and Brandy took a lovely vacay down to the Bahamas and were stalked by a hook-wielding killer during a hurricane. I’m guessing there’s no serial killer fishermen in Perry’s flick (or evil karaoke and dangerous tanning beds!) but Jackson does look bizarrely wet at the end of the teaser so maybe there’s a tropical storm!

This look like a typical Tyler Perry melodrama. Oh well, it will make a ton of money…
this movie sounds painful. i could barely sit through the first one…the script was horrendous. Ive enjoyed most of Tyler Perry’s other flicks. Cant believe of all of his movies, he chose this loser to make a sequal too.
Tyler, i think you need to slow down and stop cranking out movies every 6 months!
Are you kidding…this is one of his best films! Actually one of the best written ones…oh well…everybody has their own opinions…but I will say most of the people I know mark Why Did I Get Married as their favorite Tyler film…that’s why he’s doing a sequel…even he knows this is a crowd favorite.
I just watched it with the sound off (don’t want boss to hear how hard I’m “working”) and man, does that look like a horror movie trailer!!!

I would only see this if some cross promotional miracle occured and Madea ends up being killed. Funny trailer tho

I’m sure he doesn’t give a flying rats but about what Spike Lee thinks. Spike can do his thing and Tyler can do his thing and everyone can live happily evah after.
Now will I see it. Not sure. Ok…most likely. But I’m not a hugh fan of sequels…period so I won’t have really high expectations.
But I will say that the original Why did I get married was one of my all time favorite TP films…saw it a number of times.
Tyler Perry’s movies all have a message in them about survival and love. He does it in a way that you can enjoy the movie and have fun. Spike Lee is just jealous, if he wants to talk about bafoonery, lets look at skool daze & do the right thing. need i say more. I cant wait for the sequel to come out, cause it gets more intense and serious than the first. Props to Mr Tyler Perry
Schooldaze as buffonery? No it was simply exposing the color issues (amongst other things) in our community. I can’t imagine Spike Lee would be jealous of Tyler Perry…who would want to claim “Meet The Browns”??
It soooo looks like a horror film! Anyway, I ending up having to see it but it’s okay. His movies are the good trash.
Good trash??? His work has evolved in an awesome way. To be honest his films give a bird eye view into black culture as you may not be accustomed to. He represents a cultural spectrum of African American life styles in his films, that truly reflect much reality. many can actually learn a thing or two.

I don’t take this as a horror film…it’s showing the ups and downs of marriage…marriage can be hard and dramatic…
There was a rumor bout the movie sayin that janets character got raped…. thats y she looks that way @ the end, but idk f its tru.
