Fasten your seatbelts, Twilight fans! There’s a new clip from New Moon making the rounds and it’s chock full of pasty-faced Cullens, steamy romantic stares, and, of course, some incidental bloodlust. In the minute-long clip, which premiered on MTV, Bella opens a birthday gift only to get an unexpected present: a paper cut. A drop of her plasma falls to the shag rug, and, well, you know what that means…
Meanwhile, People.com reported that New Moon costars Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz headed to Las Vegas for Halloween. Lutz dressed as Batman’s sidekick Robin and Greene was decked out in peacock plumage. They had a few words to say about New Moon, too, which (in case you forgot) opens on November 20th.

I agree with you, Cat. I’m dying to see this movie, but I’m staying away from preview clips from now on because it is ruining it a bit for me.
We have all pretty much seen the whole movie at this point..
If you’ve read the book, you know the plot. If you’ve seen the full trailer, it gives pretty much the entire thing about. Summit’s working to keep the book fans happy; it’s not really looking to draw in non-readers, not when it’s giving the whole thing away.
Anyway, point is, it’s not really a spoiler if you know what happens.
C’om verybody if u like books, u like movies, and if you’ve read all of the books form the saga u already know what happens and more!! becase the movie it’s just a short version of the book. So for once in your life use your brain and try to figure something out. READ a book! instead of playing Wii and all those sorts of stuff that doesn’t get u anywhere, and i agree with u James, is not a spioler if u know what happens!!

Well if you’re so worried about spoiling the movie for yourself, don’t watch the bloody clips!
Um.. If you’re so concerned about it being ruined, why bother watching the clips? Just wait until the movie comes out… It’s quite simple, really.
Noone is forcing you to watch the clips, it’s entirely your fault you are ruining it for yourself. Have a little patience or simply spoil yourself with another clip!

But in the book Bella is made out to be an extreme clutz. I think that Kristen did not do a good enough job at that part. I am pretty sure everyone will agree with that.

Don’t the have a special coverage section on the main page where Twilight is listed. Why have it there if you are going to post Twilight stuff on the main page anyway?
I sympathize. I like Twilight (as a guilty pleasure; I’m not at all a fanatic like some people on here), and even I get sick of seeing coverage.
Just think though, in about a year and a half, it’ll be all over.
By the time the movie comes out we will have seen the entire movie in exclusive clips!

If you don’t want spoiler clips, don’t watch the, There is tons about the movie that has not even been hinted at yet in the trailers. I enjoyed the first one like almost everybody but I gotta say New Moon sounds like a BOMB. All those teasers, spoilers and craziness , talk about ways to kill a high expected movie.

I think Bella’s paper cut looks insanely fake-i burst out laughing because its such a huge cut! but still cant wait to see New Moon! (my second favorite of the books-behind eclipse!!)

It’s not plasma! I mean, yeah, there’s plasma in there, but not just plasma. It would be clear if it was just plasma, but since it’s red, there are red blood cells. There’s also serum in there too. I know it’s silly to comment on that, but it really bugged me when I read it!

Relax, kids. It’s nothing that you haven’t seen from the (godawful) teaser trailer from the MTV Movie Awards.
Having said that, it’s almost painful to watch. The paper cut looks extremely fake, and Stewart’s reaction is beyond melodramatic. Like someone said, it’s the same stilted, half-baked acting that soured the first film.

If you take any love story, and watch random out-of-context “intense” scenes, they’re going to seem weird.

Fair enough, Susan. I have to notice that your point is only directed toward people who had a negative reaction to the clip. Surely people can’t judge a film POSITIVELY from a minute-long clip, either? I’d hate to think you wanted it both ways.

Personally, I think that people who are like: OMG THIS FILM WILL BE AMAZING AND CHRIS WEITZ IS A GOD, are just as ridiculous as those who are assuming it will suck.
The movie hasn’t come out yet, so for us to assume that we know it’ll suck or that it’ll be amazing doesn’t make sense to me.
I understand people judging individual clips (and liking them or disliking them), but using such short, out-of-context clips to make grand assumptions about the movie doesn’t make sense to me.
I cannot wait to see the movie and I am thrilled that new clips keep coming out. I hope they keep ‘em coming!

It’s amazing how many pessimists there is on here putting down Kristen and putting down Twilight in general I simply ask this: if you hate Twilight so much why are you posting here? if you don’t like the movies then why are you watching them? nobody is forcing you too. As for the movie itself I cannot wait yes there is alot of spoilers but once again your not made to watch them and as someone previously stated 1. you have more then likely read the books you know whats coming and 2. There is alot of parts that would not be in spoilers. In any case you can’t win people complain because there isnt enough spoilers and then others complain because theres too much…ugh just stop complaining about the spoilers and the movie itself particulary when you HAVN’T even seen the whole thing yet and hey if nobodys noticed Kristens the one with the acting career not you why do you think that might be? People commenting on Stewart’s acting in the clip can only do so because they’ve taken the time to see it. So your “If you don’t like Stewart, don’t watch it” argument is limp. How can people form an opinion on her acting if they don’t watch her?
I do agree with you that fans can’t be appeased. If there weren’t any clips, people would complain. Now that there are a lot of clips, they still complain.
And I’m playing devil’s advocate here, but I’m pretty sure Stewart’s family has industry connections. I’m pretty sure she didn’t come from middle America obscurity; she had a little leg up.
I read the book and i didnt know the “papercut” line was supposed to be soo funny. Its said so stale and boring that you would think she was just going “oh well” I saw the trailer at THIS IS IT and laughed out loud when she said that bit.
In the book, to Bella, the papercut WAS an “oh well” moment. It didn’t become a big deal until she saw everyone’s reactions.
I agree with whoever said that we haven’t seen the film, so we can’t make grand assumptions as to whether it will be good or not, based on very brief, out of context clips.
I think this fandom is scared to death about the quality of NM, because Twilight was such a disappointment.
All I can say is that I truly hope it turns out well.

On my end, New Moon is my third-favorite of the books, after Eclipse and Twilight. And if Twilight, which I enjoyed (the book), could make such a terrible film, I’m kind of concerned how they could make New Moon, which I think is a weaker book, into a better film than Twilight. And yeah Weitz is a stronger director, but the screenwriter and cast are the same.
I guess I’m just a pessimist.
I watch Twilight pretty closely and I’m drawn to some things about it, but I still find it unsatisfying on the whole. That said, I think it’s debatable whether the first movie was ’such a terrible film.’ Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but while critics leaned negative, on Yahoo! movie only one gave it an outright D. A lot of Cs, but some Bs. To some it’s an okay movie, to others it’s pretty lame, but many people do not share the view that it’s a terrible movie.
I think many agnostics on Twilight would say they’ve seen worse movies.
