Halloween Day, as we all know, is not so much about movie-going (it’s more about this), which means that it might be a rather slim weekend at the box-office since the holiday falls on a Saturday this year. But with Michael Jackson’s This Is It enjoying its first weekend in theaters and Paranormal Activity still spooking audiences, a few of you are bound to head out to the multiplex. EW’s box office guru Nicole Sperling predicts that This Is It will take the weekend, in terms of viewers and dollars, followed then by Paranormal Activity, Law Abiding Citizen, Where the Wild Things Are, and Couples Retreat.
But screw all that box office science and predictions and whatnot. We’re doing our own pre-weekend poll here: What’re you, our beloved EW.com readers, planning to see this weekend? Tell us in the poll below!

Really looking forward to “This IS It”. I’ve got my sequin glove ready!
When will the madness end? I really hope “This is it” and not the beginning of more pointless MJ stuff.
Obviously you dont like music.
Love your enthusiasm! We need more people like you out there, showing MJ some love….I had my Fedora out when I saw it this past Wednesday
Saw Paranormal Activity last weekend. Kind of creepy but a whole lot of fun to watch. The audience was really in to it. Most fun I’ve had at the movies in a long time.
Im going to see This Is It tomorrow! I’ve seen it once already and it was surprisingly really good.
I have a feeling that “This is It” is not going to be it. I’m sooo sick of Micheal Jackson, I know he died and all but quite honestly he was just an entertainer! It isn’t like the Pope died or anything, and if the Pope had died he wouldn’t have gotten THIS much publicity…that’s the sad thing really.
It’s pretty safe to ascertain that Michael Jackson touched millions across barriers of race, religion and countries. The Pope, albeit a great religious figure has not accomplished this and will never accomplish it as not every human on Earth is a Christian. Michael touched people through his music and was a source of inspiration to millions around the world. He was an artistic genius and a wonderful humanitarian and this is why his millions of fans celebrate his legacy.
I’m so sick of Michael Jackson too. What a sicko he was.
Too bad for you. Michael Jackson isn’t going anywhere. He will still be in peoples homes by way of his tremendous music. This man has accomplish a lot in his lifetime. He has given a lot back to society, he fell short in his last days, but give the man some credit, he did establish a name in the music industry. Many of you would not feel this way about him if there was not so much bad media publicity. Your next door nieghbor could be a sicko and could still be your best friend. You know why? because no one put thier personal life in the media. Who is to say all the alegations were true. The court found him not guilty. Its time to move on from the negativity towards people we dont realy know
Ya if only being found not guilty ment he wasn’t. We all know he most likely did it.
if you sick him thats means u dont anything about him…he has the pure love , pure thoughts, to give so much for the world…the media made him sicko by giving wrong info ..no matter what all the remaining negativity about him will soon fade as he gives divine love….
Michael Jackson donated over us300million to charities and supported 39organizations, he had done soooooooooo much for the world. he’s not a pope but even pope dont do this much to humanity. He’s close to Jesus and people are just blinded by the tabloidish image the media created.
NEVER EVER compare Mj to Jesus. He wasn’t an evil guy but he had many flaws.
Michael never donated $300 million to charity. He was never on Business Week’s list of the top 50 philanthropists in America. Michael never had $300 million to donate to charity. He only made $550 million his whole career (according to Forbes) & half of that went to taxes. The rest went to his lavish life style, legal fees. He might have given $100 million to charity, but certainly not $300 million.
WRONG!
The Guinness Book of world records
have to FACT check.
There is no doubt that in his life time, Michael has donated 300 million to charity. Michael is known for giving complete earnings from tours to charity.
He has never been one to boast about his charitable contributions.
And some people only know of his “lavish” lifestyle because of that crock of a Docu “Living with Michael” done by Martin Bashir
Truth is here was a man who wore out his loafers and still barely bought new ones, here is a man who wore simple, red shirt, black pants for years.
If he indeed did want to buy some things for himself like ART,pantings. That is NO ONES concern, he had worked for everything he had
WRONG
Guinness never said he gave $300 million. It said he gave to 39 charities. They never said how much he gave to those charities. Only that he gave to 39 charities. There’s no possible way he gave $300 million to charity. He never had that kind of money.
At his peak his fortune estimated over 750 million..,some predicts actually it could be well over than that.
We know MJ wasn’t the Pope but here is the thing:
the Pope’s followers in the world are about 2 billion .. MJ’s fans + curious non fans are way more than that .. Everyone in the world knows MJ but only 1/3 of the world know the Pope .. Do the math
Funny how you don’t even say the # of MJ followers. While he does have many Fans I have to disagree about more people knowing who he is.
Do NOT go and see Paranormal Activity. It is one of the most boring films I have ever had the misfortune of sitting through. If the shaky camera doesn’t give you motion sickness.. the INCREDIBLY LONG TIME it takes for ANYTHING remotely scary to happen will simply put you to sleep. I’m serious. If you’re going, hoping to be scared out of your mind… you won’t get any action until the last five minutes of the film. It is NOT worth it. TRUST ME.
Man you people are DUMB calling MJ a pedo. Ohh you believe in the media…. he must have done it if it’s on the news and radio all over the world. You know the people who accused him only did it for the money, the were crooks search it up yourselves. He just cared for the children like everyone else – but he got carried away. NOT GUILTY until proven guilty…Oh wait he was found not guilty…… The case had holes it…YA know.
You people are to obssessed with him. And just to tell you He isnt innocent because he was pronounced not guilty. Most likely the world will never know if he did it or not.
All the movie fans and websites which associates to box-office movies are predicting “This Is It” as their #1 choice for this weekend.
This is what BOM fans say;
29.4% Michael Jackson’s This Is It
20.4% No interest this weekend.
16.3% Paranormal Activity
6.9% Where the Wild Things Are
6.1% Saw VI
4.2% Zombieland
3.8% Other
i hated paranormal activity. it’s boring. and anotehr thing although i don’t think this is it will be a hit, i don’t get this he was a freak. i hate that people are so mean against other because they are different. who decided what is normal and what not?and what is the great thing about being normal???
I thought it was awesome, my heart was racing all through the movie, I am definitely seeing it again, and again, everytime a friend wants to go I will go with them!! love it!
so freaking frustrating people are not giving Saw VI a chance. Word of mouth is good, but in this case doesn’t, or didnt, work people already gave up on the franchise. Too bad, you don’t know what you’re missing. More of the same? Not. At. All
micheal donated all the money from his 1995 history tour (67 concerts) to charity the only celebrity dead or alive who have ever done that. the gross was 315 million look it up.
I read his Dangerous Tour only made $21 million. Keep in mind that touring is very expensive so profit marigins are slim. MJ was not on Business Week’s list of America’s top 50 philanthropists. If he had given as much as you claim, he would have been. Enough with the lies by MJ fans. You’re causing people to turn against him when you give him credit for things he did not do.
