My problem is not that they have and express their own oppinions, it’s that people take every word that they say as truth, before they ever find out on their own.And I am sorry but MOST of the stars that do speak out so strongly have no morals! Why should we listen to or endorse people who publically say that to sodomize a thirteen year old isn’t “technically rape” or that because somebody can make a good movie,they should get away with those behaviors.I see those in Hollywood that are actors as no different from any business person.If you owned a store that sold a popular item, you wouldn’t degrade and openly stand for or against things.That’s like saying,”hey I have this product and I want EVERYBODY to buy it,but let me tell you how I REALLY feel about those people that have blonde hair, or a handicap.” Whatever you choose to put in the blank,those people would be offended and not do business with them,rightfully so.You can’t expect to be spiteful with your comments and have those same people run to support your trade.The problem is not that they should have freedom of their words/oppinions.It’s that they have made enough money that they don’t care about you! They can offend anybody that they want,and don’t care,period,because they don’t need you anymore!That is why you don’t see an actor that is just starting out,do some of the things that these others do.It isn’t about whether you believe as they do,it’s about the fact that you’ve made them rich and now they could care less about what you think.If they truley cared so much,instead of twenty vacations a year,spending $5000/nt on a room(just for starters)and MAYBE contributing a few thousand to a charity once a year,they would do more to help the with the problem.
I guess if you consider all of the time and money he puts into that OneXOne charity and the clean water for africa organizations, he can’t be all THAT evil. Plus, I’ll forgive any dude who makes me laugh as hard as he did on Entourage. “I can’t believe I have an Academy Award and I’m calling YOU back! Again and again and AGAIN!”
(Okay, I’m not quite there with Alec Baldwin yet, but after another two or three 30 Rock episodes, he might just win me over in the end.)

Matt is still an actor, and this is still an entertainment type movie, right? He’s a good actor and has a right to opinions, as does Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, etc.
I’ve always said “I don’t care what your opinion is, as long as you have one.” I despised Alec Baldwin forever because of his politics but he cracks me up on 30 Rock. I’m all for debating and discussion and kudos to the folks that actually get the mic and can rant if they feel like it – better than thanking the Good Lord for a little gold statue – and we should should all be inclined to do such if given the stage.
Long-story short, I don’t need to agree with anyone’s politics to enjoy them or their work. If someone goes off the deep end and makes an arse of themself, you can be sure they’re suffering more than you are. Let it go and enjoy the people that entertain you as entertainers.

You will watch it because most of America has gone Full Regards and most are mindless, don’t care or are not educated well enough to know what’s going on in the rest of the world. They consume, spend money on things they don’t need and support an endless cycle of moving up the ladder of increasing their upward social mobility. Is life all about Monopoly?
We are by-products of a lifestyle obsession. What concerns me are the endless Hollywood movies of being a covert operative for the US Government, when most of these people will end up enlisting, get shipped off to war and find out the world is a F-ed up place and they will never fix it’s problems, no matter if they are a Air Force, Army, Marine,Navy, a Agency Case Officer, Covert Operative…. whoever. They will never fix the world’s problems no matter how much work and money is sunk into it. Even a $500 Trillion Dollar War.

If you watch this film, 10 to 1 you’ll go full retard and not only spend money to see it, you will buy popcorn and think one day… that could be up on the screen….or will desire to be a Warrant Officer / Covert / Secret or Special Operative for some retarded agency that’s going to save the world. Yeah right.
If you’re reading this, you are the middle children of history. No purpose or place. You have no purpose, but to fuel a war that is lining the pockets of the wealthy. You’ve all been raised on movies to believe that one day you’ll be a hero, will save the world. But you won’t. And perhaps you’re slowly learning that fact. And perhaps, if you’re smart enough you’ll start getting pissed off and do something about it.
Go watch the movie and then go enlist, raise your right hand and deny the fact that our country was based on the premise that decent is a right and should be practiced and cherished.

I will never again pay to see a Matt Damon movie. I was very upset with him after the election because he does not live in the same world that I do, he has not had to deal with the issues that are facing regular Americans. He and other Hollywood type should keep their mouths shut.

I just rented Hearafter, Eastwood is a patriot, would not have rented it if I knew that Matt was a Communist, like Obama who he voted for.
