I am re-reading Outlander, the first novel in Diana Gabaldon’s outstanding series, in preperation to read the seventh, just released, novel titled An Echo In The Bone. I know. I should have started this project months ago, but my reading list is just too long!
Just finished “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins, and I was incredibly hooked. What a great start to a series.
Currently reading the third and fourth parts of “The Vampire Diaries” by LJ Smith – surprisingly quite good. Also currently reading Ted Kennedy’s biography “True Compass.”
In wait: “Where Men Win Glory,” and Jen Lancaster’s “Pretty in Plaid.”
I just finished the Maisie Dobbs series by Jacqueline Winspear about a female private investigator/pschologist in London from 1929-1932. The character’s view on life has been taken to heart by all of my friends now and we keep saying WWMD (what would Maisie do?) when confronted with any problem, dilemma, or friend in need.
Of course this isn’t non-fiction, so I don’t know if it would make your list, but Steig Larrson’s Millenium Trilogy (not all out in America yet) are fantastically intricate and no matter how good a sleuth you are, you will never guess the end. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played With Fire really are amazing. Also Suzanne Collins books The Hunger Games and the follow up Catching Fire were page turners as well.
I’m about 50 pages from the end of The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. It is fairly good and engaging, but not as good as Da Vinci or A&D. I’m also making my way through Revolutionary Road. It is a wonderfully written book, but so heartbreaking that it is kind of hard to read. And just for fun, I just started The Vampire Diaires since it is Haloween!
Just finished “Catching Fire” by Suzanne Collins-very enjoyable & Volume 10 from “The Walking Dead” Graphic Novels by Robert Kirkman- Great for those who like Zombies!
I’m finally reading through Pride and Prejudice and Zombies…and wondering why I waited so long. Jane Austen plus zombies? Hilarious!
I loved “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society”.
I’m listening to 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher. It’s really good, and CD is a fantastic format for this story about a girl who recorded herself telling about why she killed herself. As another character listens to her story and I’m listening to their story, the experience is so reflective of what’s going on in the book. Definitely recommended. I’m also abot to pick up Stitches by David Small & Goth Girl Rising by Barry Lyga.
