The geek guest parade on Big Bang Theory continues: Katee “Starbuck” Sackhoff will enter the hallowed halls of geekery on the November 23 episode. Ayee!
Sackhoff isn’t the first Battlestar Galactica alum to stop by BBT: Michael “Anders” Trucco played Penny’s ex in my favorite episode of the series, “The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis.” Fellow sci-fi hottie Summer Glau guest-starred, and various nerd heroes have made appearances, like last week’s guest spot from Wil Wheaton. According to the Chicago Tribune, Sackhoff will play herself as “Wolowitz’s fantasy woman” (everyone’s… fantasy… woman?).
I still haven’t gotten over my BSG withdrawal, so any Sackhoff is good news for me, and this seems like a particularly good venue: BBT is obsessed with Galactica jokes and references, and recent episodes have figured out how to show off the characters’ geekery without dismissing or ridiculing it.
What nerd hero do you want to see on BBT next? I’m still hoping they’ll feature “Symphony of Science,” but I’d settle for Bill Nye. You, PopWatchers?

I think they need some fresher jokes and plots beyond geek stuff. it’s getting stale in the 3rd season.

Better yet, how about an episode where Sheldon dreams he’s Spock, Leonard is Kirk, Wolowitz is McCoy, and Raj is in drag as Uhura (and Sheldon says that’s perfectly logical because Raj is the only one with dark skin). And you have Penny show up as a green-skinned slave girl and Shatner guest stars as an old, bloated Khan.

I think it’s hitting it’s stride! This week’s episode was one of the best ever!
No way is it getting stale in the third season. If anything, the show is humming along, hitting home run episodes along the way. And Penny giving the napkin to Sheldon IS “The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis” episode that Margaret mentions. Everyone has mentioned Nimoy so I’ll leave him out. I’d pick someone somewhat obscure:
1. Stephen Hawking
2. Bill Shatner
3. Richard Hatch
4. Lindsay Wagner (the original Bionic Woman!)
5. Mira Furlan
Oh, I’m friggin’ ecstatic that Katee is coming to the show. I suspect a little bit that she’ll have a small role, but if they recognize it’s Starbuck in the episode, I’ll be happy. I remember gettting somewhat apoplectic that the guys couldn’t recognize Trucco was Anders in that episode!
Can I just make a tiny correction here? Sorry, it’s in my nature. Ask the people at Paradox.
