Sempiternal. Palimpsest. Perspicacious. Maybe your vocabulary could use a little boost? Enter Artwiculate, “the twitter-based Word of the Day competition that helps clever people look clever and helps the rest of us learn new words.”
Artwiculate sends out a word of the day and then vocabulary enthusiasts incorporate it into their tweets. All the tweets that use the WotD show up on Artwiculate, and wordnerds then vote for their faves. My one beef is that the words aren’t quite obscure enough: Today’s is acquiesce, and other recent entries include imbue, ethereal, and bravado.
Still, Artwiculate blends a noble pursuit with elegant execution, and given that the site is just getting off the ground, I’m optimistic about the project’s future. What about you?

That’s great and all, but I’ve learned from social networks and Twitter the shocking truth that most people (even those who you’d think would know better) can’t even differentiate among ‘there’,'their’, and ‘they’re’.
I’d feel progress was being made just for people to learn to spell words like ‘definitely’. This is too large a step for the majority of semi-literates and will only lead to confusion and more egregious abuse of the English language. The rest of us don’t need to learn those words, we already know and use them.
Inorite, ppl dont conversate enuf about this, lolz@.
I confused someone today by using the word “thus”.
No, seriously? Depressing,
It’s even more depressing than that. I’ve seen people confuse to, too, and two.
