  • Love Alynda Wheat!!

Just have to say that it’s AWESOME that Alynda reads the comments and then comments back!!! I wish more of the EW writers would do that! (cough) Glee re-capper (cough)….

I just think it should be a conversation. You all listen to me yammer on, so why shouldn’t I listen to you? But please don’t think other writers don’t read the comments or don’t care.

Alynda, it’s ok to say y’all instead of you all. I’m from Alabama, I won’t mind :-) I’m just glad I wasn’t the only one who thought there were major issues with this SVU episode. And I’m a big SVU fan.

Monk’s birthday episode was great – they’re doing a nice job of slowing wrapping up the character arcs – and Sharona is back next week.
Psych always comes through with a good laugh – “let’s check Shawn’s Internet history, hmm Mentalist spoilers….Billy Zane, thumbnails – hair….”

Can someone PLEASE tell these Hollywood actresses that plastic surgery only makes you look worse than if you aged gracefully? Christine Lahti’s OBVIOUS surgery was so obvious (and bad) it was painful to look at!

Clearly, NBC is trying its best to divest itself of any scripted dramas. Surely it would be easier to move SVU to USA Network to replace half of Criminal Intent than it is to implode the show on network! Agreed that this was one of the dumbest plots ever and the DA played by Christine Lahti one of the most utterly annoying. I can only hope she’s gone forever.

SVU is losing my attention (and DVR slot), fast. It’s becoming ridiculous, and not in a good way. Where is the strong, victim advocate in Olivia? She’s turned into a weepy, whiny shell of her former self these past few seasons, and I hate it. She manages to shine every few episodes, so I know our original Olivia is still in there somewhere. I’m also glad Sonya is just about done. I love Christine Lahti, but this miserable storyline needs to end, preferably two weeks ago.

SVU needs to take a lesson from the original L&O. Twenty seasons in, and it’s the best it has been in a while. Friday’s episode was great, and the knock at Arthur Branch at the end had me laughing out loud.

I’ve been loving NCIS, but I’m also a huge Ziva fan, so this arc was very satisfying for me. I think Ziva has felt (and will continue to feel) debilitating guilt. To me, it seems that she feels guilty about (what she perceives as) choosing Mossad over NCIS, guilty about letting her father down, guilty about failing the mission and putting her friends in harms way for the rescue. Add into that what she mentioned to Ducky about everyone around her dying (Michael, Ari, her sister, countless friends). Girl has a lot weighing heavily on her shoulders. I also need to say, again, that Cote de Pablo has been knocking this arc out of the park. She’s always been great on the show, but the way she’s portraying Ziva’s despair – the facial expressions showing just how broken she is that have been present this season and last – has been beautiful to see. I will petition the Emmy committee myself if I have to ;)

I’m absolutely loving this column, Alynda! Keep up the good work!

I am signing that petition!! :D
NCIS and/or its cast should (at the very least) been nominated ages ago, but if the first few episodes of S7 don’t earn them a nod (or two, or three….), the members of the committee should seriously get their heads checked….

  • Tookie

Both L&O (original) and SVU ended with mistrials. Very unsatisfying.

  • Gidget521

The moment they focused in on her Starbuck’s coffee cup earlier in the episode I thought “there’s alcohol in it…she’s an alcoholic too and hiding it”. Sadly predicable episode.

  • Vel Holman

    I actually like SVU….

Thanks for every other fantastic post. Where else may just anyone get that kind of information in such a perfect means of writing? I have a presentation subsequent week, and I’m on the search for such info.
