Fox has revealed the titles, and some plot details, for forthcoming episodes of Glee. Spoiler alert: don’t read any further if you really don’t want to know some hints about what’s coming up…
Warming my heart the most: Sue has a softer side! Artie finally gets the spotlight! Kurt gives Rachel a makeover! Eve guest stars!
Here is the line-up:
Episode 8 “Mash-up” (Oct. 21)
Description: Inspired the by the students, Will composes a mash-up for a very special occasion. Meanwhile, in a shocking reversal of roles, McKinley High’s cool kids are dethroned in an “icy” fashion, and Sue shows off her softer side. (And we can also reveal we get to meet Puck’s mom in this episode. Songs will include “Bust a Move,” “Sweet Caroline,” “Thong Song” and “I Could Have Danced All Night.” Julie Andrews and Sisqo in the same episode, be still my heart…)
Episode 9 “Wheels” (Nov. 11)
Will encourages the Glee Club to support Artie, and asks each of them to perform in a wheelchair. Meanwhile, Kurt and Rachel compete for a big solo. Songs include “Defying Gravity” from Wicked.
Episode 10 “Ballads” (Nov. 18)
Mr. Schuester has the Glee Club split up into pairs to sing their favorite ballad, but when one kid gets sick, he’s forced to step in and winds up in a sticky situation. Meanwhile, Finn has dinner with Quinn’s parents.
Episode 11, “Hairography” (Nov. 25)
Eve guest-stars as a rival glee club’s instructor in another all-new episode. The Glee Club checks out their hair-raising competition, and Kurt gives Rachel a makeover.
Meanwhile, episode 12 will be called “Once, Upon A Mattress” and episode 13 will be “Sectionals” (whaaaaat? We have to wait that long for sectionals?!?! It already feels like they’ve been practicing and talking about it for months).
What do you think Gleeks, do these plot teasers get you more excited?

Sweet Caroline? Will the glee kids be performing at Fenway Park?
one could hope!
Well, they *are* performing at the World Series (game 3, in fact.)
Defying Gravity will be AWESOME. But soooooo long away! :/
yes… you are right mister…. too long away!
Not too long though. It is a track on the CD available on Nov. 3.
I gasped when I read that they’ll be doing Defying Gravity. That + Sweet Caroline = much anticipation for the coming weeks.
I also gasped! I’m sooo excited!
I gave a cheer of YES!! So excited to see this one.
Im glad to see more individual moments for the other characters, mainly Kurt/Artie/Puck.
I know!! We never see much of Artie, but he showed us a great singing voice.
Defying Gravity? Ah-freaking-mazing!
I Could Have Danced All Night? I’m dead from love!
And it’s performed by Jayma Mays (Emma)
Your kidding?! I’m dying to see that!
Freaking out from all the awesome. Glee. Is. So. Amazing!
All I want to know is when is Puck going to be revealed as the father?!?!?
Me too, considering Quinn’s snarkiness when she told him not to cheat with Rachel. I also want Will to discover Terri’s deception.
WAIT !!!!! WHAT!!! I thought Finn was the Father! OMG!!!
I’d guess Episode 12, based on the title.
Good call. Sounds like it could be a flashback episode.
Well, from what I know from my entertainment weekly magazine, they’re actually filming in a mattress sales place and there’s a song/scene there.

There’s a picture of Rachel/Quinn from said episode.
I LOVE Sweet Caroline! And Defying Gravity!!!
I’m trying to figure out where Julie Andrews fits into the songs in Mash-up. Wasn’t “I Could’ve Danced All Night” was Audrey Hepburn in “My Fair Lady?” (Well Hepburn’s voice double anyway) What am I missing?
Julie Andrews was the original stage lead of my fair lady … and got left out of the movie. But all OK, ‘cuz then Mary Martin was passed over in favor of Julie Andrews for the Sound of Music movie.
The irony being Julie Andrews ended up winning the Best Actress Oscar that year for Mary Poppins and Hepburn wasn’t even nominated for My Fair Lady
Julie Andrews was part of the original cast of “My Fair Lady” on Broadway in 1956. She was wonderful in the role of Eliza Doolittle. Fun fact: the studio turned down Julie as Eliza for the movie, because of her untested screen presence. Julie then won the Oscar for her role of Mary Poppins that year, when Audrey wasn’t even nominated for her role of Eliza.
Audrey lost the Oscar nomination due to the fact that she didn’t do her own singing for the film. Otherwise, she was predicted to not only be nominated but win that year. I love Mary Poppins, though, so I’m glad it went to Julie Andrews.
“I Could Have Danced All Night” isn’t going to be in the mash up. Emma is going to sing that.
Julie Andrews played the role on stage first. It fact, because they didn’t use her in the film, she won the oscar that year for Mary Poppins!
Julie Andrews was Hepburn’s voice double.
No, Marni Nixon sang for Audrey Hepburn in the film.
I’m so psyched!
You know, after the kids have been complaining about all those showtunes they have to sing, it’ll be fun as an audience member/theatre dork to actually HEAR a couple.
Yes-when they complained about too many show tunes, I was like “WHAT?!” I only can think of them singing Sit Down You’re Rocking the Boat and Tonight plus the whole Cabaret thing which did not include the Glee Club. As a fellow theater dork, I cannot wait to hear actual theater songs.
I agree…and I thought that it was ironic that Kurt was the one to complain about singing show tunes. (Not to foster a stereotype or anything.)
I thought the same thing! : ) And then checked myself and mentally thanked the writers for not going the cliche route.
It all looks good. I’m really interested in the songs from Wicked and (because many moons ago in a far-off place I played the Minstel in a community theater production) Once upon a Mattress.
Hey, I was Sir Harry in a production during my senior year in high school!
So what song do you think they will feature from Mattress? I’m going with Rachel singing “Shy” though it might be more appropriate (heartbreakingly so) for Quinn and Finn to sing “In a Little While”. Or maybe Quinn and Puck??
I played Sir Harry in my high schoold musical as well. hee hee….so long ago
I am so excited for this, I recently played princess winnifred in “mattress!” i hope lea michele sings that part. :]
I think Sue should sing Sensitivity.
I played the Queen in high school tho, so maybe I’m biased.
I wish that there were more Terri/Emma/Will related spoilers
Me too! i missed Emma in the last epiosde and her and Will are so cute!
Defying Gravity will be amazing!!! Can’t wait!
I agree! Especially since Lea Michelle reminds me so much of Idina Menzel anyway. YAY!
yes yes!! I can’t believe how much she reminds me of her. I wonder how often she hears it – it’s a great compliment!
As perfect as Idina Menzel was Elphaba, I actually think Lea Michelle will give Idina a run for her money doing “Defying Gravity”! Every time I see Lea Michelle sing, I picture her singing “Defying Gravity”. I was so ecstatic to see the writers work that song into Lea Michelle’s repertoire.
Actually Rachel isn’t going to be the one singing Defying Gravity….Kurt will be!!!
KURT is singing Defying Gravity????
At first glance, that seems really stupid; however, Lea Michelle looks eerily like Idina. So that would be too obvious. I like this way. It’ll be interesting to see how it turns out.
I just thought about it though, I wish Kristin C would be in the defying gravity episode!!
But that was more Idina Menzel’s number than Kristen’s.
I love love love defying gravity!!!
When will Kurt get a love life???
