Amanda Seyfried is a world-class crier, Channing Tatum has a magnificent body, and everyone has seen The Notebook. And yet I have mixed feelings about Dear John, the upcoming adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks book of the same name:
I just can’t get excited about this, and I like a good cry. Is this moistening your hankies, PopWatchers, or are you writing “no thanks” to Dear John?

Channing Tatum is an awful actor, and he’s not particularly hot.
So for me, this is definitely a pass.
He is the 21st century Mark Walberg! They have the same vocal patterns, movements, etc. It’s like Channing studied Mark Walberg’s acting style.
What your telling me is that he is a good actor then.
he screwed up g.i.joe!
I absolutely hate Channing Tatum in every movie he’s been in, but Dear John looks very redeeming. He gets to flex those acting muscles instead of those action muscles, and I really hope he doesn’t disappoint in this movie.
I think it looks good and perhaps it’s finally Channing Tatum’s time to shine. Besides, it’s got Richard Jenkins in it. Have you seen him in The Visitor – he was fantastic!
I thought you meant the old TV show Dear John with Judd Hirsch
Channing Tatum is a pretty god awful actor, who somehow got significantly less pretty after his modeling days.
Ok, thank you Cookie, I’m glad someone agrees. When I first saw him I remember thinking he was smoking and than at some point I was like…why is he not hot anymore?
I presume you are both blind (apologies to the blind you know better). That guy is HOT as hell (back in the day and now (we watching the same trailer)) and the movie will be massive hit.
Of course, Channing Tatum is enough to sell the movie – gosh any movie (keep them coming). Why do you think he is getting the best roles in Hollywood and not just for his looks?
No worries this movie will be a worldwide box office no 1 (even I can see this will be great and I don’t usually go for this stuff).
Hell, she fell in luv with him after 2 weeks; I just did after the trailer imagine what his true fans would think?
After seeing the trailer, I am looking forward to seeing the other main characters especially his relationship with his dad and not just about the girl. Whether you luv the guy or hate him, you will be watching this even if it’s kicking and screaming by your partners so just get ready to be surprised as you might actually enjoy it secretly.
I hate when people go on about his acting (so boring now and he can ACT), as there is nothing wrong with his performances everyone learns with each role.
So basically, whether the haters like it or not (just a trailer) even the haters watch sooner or later otherwise, what the hell will YOU be commenting on, YOU must at least see his films first to judge right even the new ones?
Hey, there has been a lot of romantic movies lately and from what I can see from this trailer it looks better then most recent ones, let’s just wait and see.
I’d nextflix it… not a theatre movie, but probably worth watching.
I like both actors well enough, but Nicholas Sparks crap makes me want to puke.
I was more interested on knowing who’s dueting on the song playing over the final seconds of the trailer.
Nate – The song is “Set the Fire to the third bar” by Snow Patrol, and someone else who features on the song, name escapes me.
“Paper Weight” Schuyler Fisk
its snow patrol and martha wainwright
Dear John was a wonderful book and Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum I think are perfect for the roles! The book was a heartbreaker and I get the chills just watching the previews, I cannot wait!
ya’ll are so mean and disrespectful. id like to see you play the roles better. if u have nothing nice to say dont say it at all.
Channing Tatum? More like Channing Who-Gives-A-Shit-Um, am I right?
Your very wrong.
Your very right!!!! lmao
I’ll see it because Nicholas Sparks is amazing and the film adaptations of his books are usually great (I usually hate movies based on books b/c they always f em up). I’m pretty much indifferent about the actors. They’re not favorites, but they aren’t terrible.
For the love of god, no more Nicholas Sparks adaptations please! And no more cliche wartime romance stories. My poor cinephile heart can’t take it anymore.
