ABC producers made the right choice on this. Reid would have been too bored and out of his comfort zone, and Kiptyn was just too boring. Jake is awesome!
Come on! We all loved Jake, maybe to win or not to win, but he is cute and honest so let’s give him a chance! Geez! You know you are all going to watch no matter who is the bachelor.
Jake is a great guy. I wish him well. Much better choice than those creeps who just want publicity. Don’t worry about Reid. I spotted him on a real estate program . He’s doing just fine…
he is the most boring bland person EVER seriously even during the finale when he was trying to show he wasnt vanilla by swearing it lack any personality and i was fighting to stay awake.
They will always get the blandest looking men to be chosen as the new Bachelor. Would have liked Reid so that he could boost his confidence after being dumped by Jillian on the summer Bachelorette show. But they chose Jake, who doesn’t seem to be as enticing as previous people.
Love Jake. Kiptyn would be the “box of rocks” choice. As for the author Kristen – we know you’ll be watching with your 17 cats and a cup of sleepy-time tea. Bitter much?
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t going to watch it. Helllooooooo there, Captain lol
does ABC not read forums and understand what the audience and fans want?? Jake is hot, but zero personality. Reid was much more appealing. Assuming he turned it down, ABC should have just found someone fresh and new. This will be the 5th or 6th season piggy backing off the previous… get some new ideas!
What is wrong with the nice guy being the bachelor? I do wish though that TPTB would stop using bachelors & bachelorettes from previous seasons. Can’t we start fresh some time?
Nothing wrong with getting a nice guy but there are plenty of nice guys with a brighter, funnier, sillier personality to have chosen from, ie Reid.

Jake is a bad choice. He is so fake and he just tries WAY too hard to be the “Good GUY”.
If Jake is true vanilla, he is the cream of the crop. I did not find Jake boring. He was smart, good looking, and honest. I would love to take him home with me. I’ll definitely watch every week!!
This is very disappointing. Can’t say yet if I won’t watch or not, but if there are alot of really “not nice” women, setting out to manipulate him, I think I will definitely turn the channel. Yes, he’s a “nice guy” and yes, he’s cute. But he is like the definition of bland. And, even worse for me, was how fast he fell into supposed love with Jillian. How will he ever make a decision with so many needy women in front of him?
Jake is the only choice for husband material,, the other bacherlors seem to be all players.. Boring makes the best husbands dears.. not playboys. Grow up.
Jake was dying for the job all along. And the Bachelor ruins any remotely good guy (or gal) they get by turning them into a cookie-cutter version of what they think is the ideal man/woman. Jake will just be able to be molded into that easier than most.
Clearly, he told the producers he would kill himself if he didn’t get it. I mean, after all vh1 had to deal with this summer they really had no choice.
Blech! I disliked Jake from the beginning. He was SO unmanly when he cried outside her hotel. I loved when all the other guys were bagging on him about it at Men Tell All. I dont know if i care if he finds love
