Who should play Prince Harry?

Prince-Harry_lThe story of Prince Harry’s life is being readied for the big screen, and getting the right lead actor will make or break the project. The first “gingers” that sprung to mind were my own red-headed crushes: Robert Redford, Eric Stoltz, Ewan McGregor and Kevin McKidd (I’m showing my age, I know). All of them will be too old to take on Harry, as will Seth Green.

Unless Carrot Top has a son, I’m thinking Ron Weasley himself, Rupert Grint, might be a shoo-in (and, hey, no need to pay for a voice coach!)

But there have to be other age-appropriate red-haired hotties out there that I’m forgetting about. Can you think of any other fiery young actors who would be great as the naughty prince?

Does Prince Harry really have enough of a life story for a biopic at the age of 25?

Prince Harry’s life so far doesn’t seem like movie material but I suppose movies have been based on even less in the past. Maybe it would work if they made it a comedy focusing on some his silliest/stupidest stunts and/or behavior.

As for the guy who plays Ron Weasley in the HP films, he’s too short and goofy looking to play Prince Harry…but then again if they go the comedy route…

We can dye people’s hair now. Isn’t that what they did for the lead actress in Anne of Green Gables?

As for Rupert Grint, I think he would do a fine job of portraying Prince Harry. With over 16 movie and TV credits to his name, he certainly has the acting ability.

But a movie about the Prince, at the age of 25? I don’t find his “life story” all that interesting. Yes he has had some difficult times, with the loss of his mother and all. But he’s not the only person to suffer that lost.

Perhaps sometime down the road when he’s actually done something, I might be willing to put down the money for a movie ticket, but not now!

    Jon Foster.

  • brooklyn

Zac Effron? Just dye his hair red, that should be fine
    Oh, Robert Pattinson!
    Hahaha…
I wonder what the story will be about, maybe it’ll about that war he supposed to go but didn’t go?

He did deploy to Afghanistan. He had to go home after 3 months because the media blew his spot and revealed where he was. Major security problem.

Rupert’s a good actor so I think he’d do fine. Can’t think of any other redheads who are young and talented enough. Rupert’s pretty much it. Which is really weird. Seriously, is Rupert the only good looking red-headed young actor in the world now? That’s kind of sad. :( However, if they used anyone and just changed hair colour then the playing field opens up a lot more.

You can’t be serious. What has a 25-YO spoiled brat done to deserve even a TV movie of the week? Oh, that’s right… he was/is a “Bad Boy Prince”. That should be enough to get the morons to watch. Seldom see stories about real heroes. Guess no interest in Do-Gooders.

      BORING

Rupert Grint is an obvious choice. He is a much better actor than Rob. I’m looking forward to this!

  • Gareth Williams

as i brit i can’t see the interest in this film…….really what’s the point, why make a film about the boy who can’t be king, i work for blockbuster and i wouldn’t use a free rental to watch this

As an American, I feel the same way. Unless he has some deep dark secret life that we haven’t already heard about – doubtful – what don’t we already know?

  • Allie

maybe skandar kaynes would be the perfect prince harry!! and while we’re at it, william moseley would be the perfect prince william!

  • Allie

i agree about rupert grint as well. he would be a great choice.

  • Penny

How about another Harry Potter actor? Freddie Stroma who played Cormac could make a good Harry.

  • Yelena

What another Weasly. Like one of the twins or percy?

    • orville

I was thinking that one of the Phelps brothers (they played Fred and George) would be a good choice.

    • saywhat

Rupert Grint … or one of the Weasly twins … Hands down … Rupert Grint it the 1st one who came to my mind …

  • Lauren

Rupert Grint for sure. Robert Patterson is so over rated.

    • Tatiana

Thank you. Finally, someone I agree with!
