Megan Fox a 'grump' according to anonymous 'Transformers' crew members

megan-fox-michael-bay_lMegan Fox has grabbed her share of headlines with statements that seem nuttier than a squirrel’s cheeks in October, but her recent comments that Michael Bay “wants to be like Hitler on his sets” seemed to push the limits of good taste, even for her. Over the weekend, three crew members from the Transformers franchise ran a letter on Michael Bay’s website fighting back. (The letter has since been removed, but it’s cached, so… not really removed.)

The anonymous letter — “we can’t give our names because sadly doing so in Hollywood could lead to being banished from future Paramount work” — wastes no time calling Fox “dumb as a rock,” saying that she “never smiles,” is “the grump of the set,” “is the queen of talking trailer trash and posing like a porn star,” her acting is “cringe-able,” she “has a paragraph tattooed to her backside (probably due her rotten childhood),” and “is as about ungracious a person as you can ever fathom.” It wraps up with this anecdote: “On our first day in Egypt, the Egyptian government wouldn’t let us shoot because of a permit problem as the actors got ready in make up at the Four Seasons Hotel. Michael tried to make the best of it; he wanted to take the cast and crew on a private tour of the famous Giza pyramids. God hold us witness, Megan said, ‘I can’t believe Michael is f—ing forcing us to go to the f—ing pyramids!’ I guess this is the ‘Hitler guy’ she is referring to.” READ FULL STORY »

Clip du Jour: Roger Federer makes what he calls the 'greatest shot' of his career

I’ll say nothing about the clip embedded below other than the fact that it’s a must-watch moment that occurred during the final game of Roger Federer’s thrilling three-set semifinal match against hella dishy Novak Djokovic at the U.S. Open yesterday.

And for a bonus clip, if you’re absolutely positively going to lose a point, you might as well make it entertaining, no?

'Mad Men': Three hazy thoughts about 'The Fog'

mad-men-betty_caterpillar_l

1. Loved Betty’s tripped-out dream sequence, but I really wanted that caterpillar in her hand to blossom into a beautiful Alan Rickman. (He’ll play the Hookah-Smoking Caterpillar in Tim Burton’s upcoming Alice in Wonderland, but we haven’t seen an image yet!) Two more brilliant insights ahead… READ FULL STORY »

POLL: Do you forgive Kanye West's interruption? (And should President Obama?)

Behold a 15-second sample for the spoken word portion of Kanye West’s newest track, in which he interrupts President Obama to inform him, too, that Beyonce had one of the best videos of ALL TIME. I call it “With Liberty and Health Care For All (12″ Douche Remix)” Who smells sales?

If you missed Kanye’s bizarre spotlight-hogging display after Taylor Swift‘s win for Best Female Video at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards, read all about it over at The Music Mix, and vote in EW.com’s poll, below:

'The Dr. Oz Show': Oprah's health expert promises swine flu, games, and poo! (Yes, poo)

After five years as Oprah’s health expert, Dr. Mehmet Oz debuts his own syndicated talker, The Dr. Oz Show, today. “The mantra is playful, playful, playful,” the good doc tells us. “If it’s enjoyable, it’s a lot easier for folks to remember what they just heard. We want to answer the questions of America on health, and we want to make it easy for folks to find those answers.” Here, Dr. Oz shares more of what to expect.

1. A format consisting of three main parts: The show begins with a current issue Dr. Oz wants to put on the country’s radar. “That could be ‘why do the sexes fight?’, it could be swine flu — it’s a much louder and more newsy topic than we’ll normally have in the rest of the show,” he says. For the swine flu discussion, he called in the experts who are often asked to advise the president. “It was very touching for me,” he says, “because I saw these clinicians reveal a very personal side. One of them had a pregnant daughter — is she gonna be vaccinated? Someone in the audience who was pregnant was asking that question. It took it away from theory, and made it very real.” From there, he’ll almost always transition into a personal interest story. “If they are on the down and out, I’m gonna help them get back on their feet. If they are folks who have already bounced back, then they’ll share with me some of the tips that they were able to use, and the audience can use them as role models.” He’ll, of course, end with his popular “Ask Dr. Oz” segment, during which audience members and viewers can ask him whatever embarrassing health questions they’re too shy to ask their own doctors (but somehow feel fine posing on national TV). 'Michael Jackson's This Is It' trailer: Worth the wait?

By the end of the VMAs, I pretty much used up my salty tears for Michael Jackson — first while sampling an excerpt of his This is It trailer on Saturday via the MTV website, and then, at the start of tonight’s show, which featured that awesome dance opener and a bodacious Janet Jackson rocking the sheet out of Radio City Music Hall (special kudos to the video production team that sync’ed the video with the hoofers and ended the number with a heartbreaking shot of Jackson looking down on the stage). So when the time finally came to experience the actual This Is It trailer at the end of the show, I wasn’t terribly blown away (well, maybe I got a little giddy from seeing that cool shot of Jackson, clad in all-white togs, slip-sliding down a banister. Woo hoo!). Naturally, I blame Kanye for my lack of post-show enthusiasm – still pissed at the man, even after Beyonce classed up the joint at the end! – but even that mouthy killjoy won’t keep me from the Oct. 28 debut of the concert film from Sony.

We’re already hearing the studio thinks this one’s gonna be big at the box office, but the flick’s only going to run for two weeks because there’s worry that its shelf life could be (sadly) limited. To build anticipation, the studio will start pre-sales early for the flick that’s expected to feature 3-D elements along with tons of outtakes from Jackson’s final rehearsals. So what do you think? Are you planning on snatching one of those exclusive tickets? Think we can get Kanye to pay for half?

Toronto 2009: EW, Oprah and Mary J. Blige help Tyler Perry celebrate his 40th birthday

precious-dinner_lIt was a good weekend to be Tyler Perry. Not only did his latest movie, I Can Do Bad All By Myself, take the No. 1 spot at the box office, but yesterday, he celebrated his 40th birthday like any self-respecting mogul should — with Entertainment Weekly and Oprah!

Last night, EW hosted a dinner here in Toronto to celebrate Lee Daniels’ Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, the buzz-buzz-buzzed-about indie drama that Perry and Oprah exec-produced (and is certain to be a contender in this year’s Oscar race). Both titans of the entertainment world attended the party, as did Daniels, Sapphire, Precious stars Sherri Shepherd, Paula Patton (plus hubbie Robin Thicke), and Gabourey (“Gabby”) Sidibe, along with Mary J. Blige, who appears in I Can Do Bad and contributed a song to the Precious soundtrack. After Oprah and Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer led toasts in Perry’s honor, Blige rose from her table and delivered a heartfelt, impromptu rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Even Oprah was impressed.

Then they rolled out the cake and we sipped champagne.

So… who’d you like to sing at your next milestone birthday?

'New Moon' trailer leak: More Volturi, more Edward, more awesome!

The new Twilight Saga: New Moon trailer scheduled to premiere during tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards has leaked online. We presume the trailer is legit because it’s the best one yet with footage of the Volturi, who make the second film more than a tortured teen love story; shots of the wolf pack in which they do not look cuddly; and an Edward fight scene that might actually be worthy of the MTV Movie Award it will inevitably win. UPDATE: The official trailer is now below.

What do you think of the trailer? Join us for our VMA live blog tonight at 8 p.m. ET.
