I’m in London and starting to get hooked on XFactor. Plus: judges won’t blame contestants on bad song choice anymore (they blame the judge/mentor instead). Minus: it becomes less about singing – too much crappy back stories and emo-editing. Plus: You do end up liking a contestant for their personality – LOVE STACEY SOLOMON. Minus: Bad singers get by for being cute (Lloyd Daniels) or entertaining (Jedward). Plus: Maybe we’ll get to see Paula or some other pop star back as a judge/mentor. Minus: Contestants start ‘becoming’ a persona and appear fake (Rachel).

I pretty much agree that X won’t be as cool as Idol.

But if you think Allison is really going to have a future in music, you haven’t been looking at the Billboard charts.

x-factor is a better show than AI

I LOVE ELLEN & AM SURE SHE WILL MAKE AMERICAN IDOL EVEN BETTER THAN IT ALREADY IS!! NOW I DON’T HAVE TO SEE SIMON & PAULA FLIRTING ALL THE TIME. ELLEN CAN KEEP HER WORDS TOGETHER & LOVES TO DANCE. WHAT BETTER JUDGE COULD YOU ASK FOR?! ANY WOMAN THAT LOVES MUSIC< DANCING & IS CONFIDENT IS GREAT FOR IDOL!!!!

I’m so glad some other people besides myself are looking forward to the X Factor coming to the US. I’ve been watching it online for a while now and it is so much more engaging than American Idol. I think we’ve seen (especially with this seasons lack of talent) its tired efforts over and over again. The X Factor, when compared to the production efforts of AI, wins hands down. With their amazing stage, and the excitement it brings the audience, we will be lucky to have the X factor on our side of the ocean. :)

X Factor is 10 times better than Idol because the artists put through X Factor are more likely to succeed in the industry. “Leona Lewis”, “JLS”, and “Alexandra Burke” are all tremendously great performers. That doesn’t take away the thousands of American Idol rejects that will try out for X Factor. American Idol has been more of a show of who could get the most votes. The outcome of American Idol hasn’t necessarily been who’s the more talented one, which will change when X Factor comes. The stage on X Factor is twice as huge as American Idol, and come audition time, it will really separate those who are ready to perform as opposed to the shy people with no talent.
