Anticipation for Spike Jonze’s adaptation of Where the Wild Things Are has reached fever pitch (you wouldn’t believe the monster costumes walking around Times Square this morning), so it’s nice to have something — anything — to tide us over while we await the film’s Oct. 16 release. In this case, it’s something pretty cool: the original soundtrack, featuring songs by Karen O (she of popular indie band Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and the Kids. Stream the whole thing at Stereogum and decide for yourself whether you’ll love or hate this movie — the soundtrack is anything but middle-of-the-road.
So what’s on YOUR Must List? List up to three items from current TV/movies/music/books/games/online. And be sure to explain WHY you’ve made your selection, too — we love to hear your thoughts! Don’t forget your e-mail address, in case we decide to use your submission in the magazine. Deadline is Thursday, Oct. 1 at noon ET.

Every night I watch an old AD epi via hulu.com. I also check the all time popularity of shows and Arrested Development and Firefly are always top of that list. I really, really, really hope the Fox execs check out that list and cry over their lost profits. Additionally I hope the execs at CW do the same for Veronica Mars!
The hilarious Chris Colfer playing Kurt (I’m auditioning for the role of kicker) Hummel on Glee. He can audition for the role of anything he wants at my house as long as he keeps it fierce, outrageous, and inspirational cause I want Kurt to keep doing it his way.
Miranda Lambert’s Revolution. It’s a great CD, just listened to it three times in a row.
Smallville – CK is literally transforming into Superman before our very eyes this season! And somehow The CW saw fit to give Melrose 2.0 encores priority in its ‘09-’10 schedule and place one of their strongest shows on a Friday night all by its lonesome? The injustice!
1. “The Oxford Murders” (book) ~ Guillermo Martínez
I somehow found this on wikipedia as a movie starring Elijah Wood from 2008. I read the premise of the book and it sounds like a good read on my honeymoon.
2. “I Am… Sasha Fierce” (music) ~ Beyonce
You gotta admit, most of the tunes that have made it to the radio are quite catchy.
3. “Zombieland” (movie)
Saw the trailer for it during “Inglourious Basterds” and was amused. One of the few movies that I may be able to bring my fiancee to go see, since he’s a bit picky in what movies to see in the theater.
1.The Office- Awesome start for the season.
2.Paramore’s new CD, Brand New Eyes-Finally new material. Can’t wait to listen.
3.How I Met Your Mother- Barney Stinson=AWESOME.
DVD Superman/Batman:Public Enemies My not-so inner fanboy was doing cartwheels. President Lex Luthor sets up Supes for murder, then offers a bounty on Superman and Batman’s heads. Voices include Kevin Conroy (Batman), Tim Daley (Superman), Clancy Brown (Lex Luthor)and Alison Mack (Power Girl).
The new album from The Avett Brothers actually lives up to all that Starbucks-fueled hype. I especially love the title track “I and Love and You.”
And “Bright Star” is easily one of the best love stories I’ve ever seen on the big screen; Abbie Cornish and Ben Whishaw were both incredible.
1. Kaley Cuoco on The Big Bang Theory, sure Jim Parsons and the rest of the social-challenged nerd squad are often both funny and heartfelt but it’s Cuoco as struggiling actress Penny who brings out the show’s unique dynamics whether she’s flirting with Leonard or especially when she spars with Sheldon, Cuoco always elevates the show to the best comedy on TV.
2. Whip It! come on it’s Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut, it’s about roller derby, and it stars Ellen Page AND Kristen Wiig. What’s not to love?
3. The cast of How I Met Your Mother, forget NPH (no don’t!) the entire cast of HIMYM is really bringing it this season. It’s still a shame that Cobie Smulders and Jason Segal didn’t get the Emmy recognintion they deserved.
1.Bones- Love Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz. Also, it’s brilliantly written, and i just love the will-they-won’t-they tease ED and DB play so well
2. Monsters of Folk album- whats not to be excited about? Conor Orberst, Mike Mogis, Jim James and most importanly M. Ward- can’t wait for She & Him Volume II
3. Glee- smart writing, great soundtrack, awesome cast- Jane Lynch “How’s homelessness working out for ya?”
1. Glee- I’m one of the many and I can’t be more happy about it!
2. Gossip Girl- judge away, but the clothes, the cattiness, and Chuck and Blair are the new hot Romeo and Juliet that Shakespeare could only dream of.
3. Monsters of Folk- Debut album is phenomenal
