I watch the show for Katie Cassidy, and I never saw the original, so I’m pretty meh on the casting. If they could focus the show less on Jonah and Riley’s relationship woes, it would make me happier, though.
I will watch Melrose just for Heather Locklear. I’m rooting for Melrose and Heather.
Aaron Spelling’s shows were the best and hopefully both 90210 and Melrose will be as successful as the earlier versions.
I agree with Brenda, now we just need Alexis Carrington Colby back on prime time!
I’m actually enjoying the show! The new ‘Melrose’ is very interesting….although they need to deal with the slew of pretty boys fast; too many and not enough time in an hour. I TRULY enjoyed the intro-hissing between Jane and Ella. ‘Gen-X’ is maturing and seasoning into ripe and delicious mid-life/adulthood….and one could see that with Jane’s cool hissiness.(Strong) We are the demographic that came-of-age with Dyansty/Dallas/Knots Landing and The Women over 40-50 Revolution in the 80′s…….our midlife phase will be similar. GLAMOUR! Sass! Intrigue!Oh, And I DO LOVE ELLA!

Yeah I’m waiting for them to remake Dynasty, Dallas and Knot’s Landing now lol. I just wish the new Melrose wasn’t on the CW sometimes b/c they have to add so much annoying pop music in every scene. At least add some cool alternative stuff like they did in the 90′s but hearing Jamaican rap over a scene where David steals from his father just was so out of place and ridiculous. Plus Jane’s character was just so vicious that I found it hard to like her. I know she didn’t want to play the victim anymore but there are too many bitches in the boiler room and Riley is a caricature of a person, she has no depth. I really want to like the new show but they don’t make you care about any of the characters. Where are their vulnerabilities? Even Amanda had her Daddy issues. Michael is just a rich yuppie now and Ashlee Simpson looks like a deer forever trapped in the headlights.
