Like an Applebee’s dinner entree, The CW’s Melrose Place reboot is dripping with cheese, not to mention guilt-inducingly addictive. And while I’d rank the show’s breakout character, Katie Cassidy’s Ella Simms, as prime-time’s reigning head-bitch-in-heels — last night’s “Don’t flatter yourself, David: I always have a good time” was a howl-and-repeat zinger — I’m pretty stoked that Heather Locklear’s Amanda Woodward will soon be in the mix to stir up trouble and (hopefully) boost ratings. After all, Ella-vs.Amanda > Ella-vs.Snoozy-Jane, no?
To that end, Locklear was back on the set of Melrose — and back in Amanda’s signature short skirt — for her first day of shooting yesterday, as the accompanying photo proves. Locklear is scheduled to make the first of her multiple appearances starting with the show’s Nov. 17 episode, and I’m curious, if her presence will make you more likely to watch Melrose? Vote in our poll below, share your thoughts in our comments section, and do read Wendy Mitchell’s recap of last night’s episode.

I was excited for Sydney’s return but she was always best as a weepy underdog, not a catty b*tch.
Amanda, on the other hand, was best at being a sharp-tongued terror so yes I am excited!

Wow, Heather looks great. I can’t participate in the poll though–I never had any intention of tuning in to the new MP, and the addition of Heather doesn’t affect that one way or the other.
I’m with you. Seriously, why didn’t they just bring back all of the original cast and go from there?
God if you guys don’t plan on tuning in, then why waste a minute of your time posting your negativity here, stick to watching whatever crap you watch and let us who are actually enjoying the show because we actually WATCHED IT to our happiness and stay there in your negativity bubble. A common TV Trope: COMPLAINING ABOUT SHOWS YOU DON’T WATCH http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Ptitlexxpmjrh25rbg
I already watch the show. For the most part, it’s actually pretty watchable. I think the return of Amanda is just what it needs to get some stronger footing and find its niche, though.
Amandad F’n Woodward. We missed you!!!! We got Brenda Walsh last year and hopefully again this year. Now we just need to get Alexis Carrington Colby and Kimberly Shaw back on TV and we’ll be set for a fun time.
obviously I meant *Amanda not Amandad LOL
Don’t tease me, Brenda. I would keel over if Alexis Carrington Colby ever returned to prime time. And Slezak, Jane is awesome, not snoozy!
In a word, no.
Hmmmm — I had given up on MP2 about 20 min into the first epi, but I might have to reconsider for this… Amanda Effing Woodward?? YES, PLEASE!!!!
The woman is pushing 50 and her pooch is showing in that outfit. Something a bit more age appropriate??
What the heck are you talking about? My first thought was “She’s pushing 50 and looks fantastic!”
Go back to bitter island…
I agree. She looks HOT! Why do ppl automatically think older women have pooches? I go to University and girls 18-25 have pooches! But because they have firm boobs and curves, we attribute the pooch to healthy….why cant we do the same for older women. Gosh, I hope I look that great at 50!
That dress isn’t flattering. Don’t they wear sweaters in LA?
You think she has a pooch? Wow. She looks amazing.
Step away from the keyboard and go get your eyes checked. She looks amazing!
honestly, MP2.0 is highly entertaining … utterly cheestastic, yeah … but totally watchable and fun. i’m all over it and have no problem admitting it (ditto 90210) … giddy for the return of HL.
and PS: WHAT about Jane’s return last night was snoozy? she’s a whole new woman, clearly jaded & ready to rumble after all her years married to Michael, dealing with Syd, living at 4616, etc … she was utterly wicked last night & i loved it.
I’m very excited about Amanda returning. I should say that Jane was pretty awesome last night. I never liked Jane on the original, but somehow this catty shrew she’s turned into was fun. And still trying to push her pathetic fashion career. I’m looking forward to some quality Jane-Michael interaction.
I am addicted to the show. I was addicted to the original until the last couple of seasons and Heather/Amanda’s return should make for some great and entertainging tv. Bring it on. And she does look great.
I agree with Jill’s comment: Bring back the original case and go from there. I never missed an episode back in the day and most people that I know who watched the original would tune in in droves if the whole case was brought back. Some of the new folks are great (Ella and Auggie especially) but the folks from the original just clicked so much better than this lot. So in the vein of the words: “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” bring back the originals and sack some of the dead weight of the new cast. (Ashley Simpson first and foremost)
I cannot believe that Melrose Place is comming back i hope it’s comming to Europe. I never missed an episode back then.
Was a diehard fan of the show when it was on FOX
but only when they brought in Heather AFTER the show was already playing. Like now, Heather was brought in to boost the show’s dismal ratings and she
did. Same scenario this time. She also looks even
better than she did in the original series. I have et to watch an episode of Melrose redux. Will get on
board now that Heather is back.
I don’t appreciate you calling Jane “Snoozy”, Michael! Jossie Bisset looks amazing, and quite frankly, better than ever! Although her character was a little untrue to form on last night’s episode (Jane is supposed to be more sweet than bitchy), I’m just as happy to have her back on the screen as I am Heather Locklear!
I agree! Heather looks awesome! And can’t wait for her debut! Yep,the “cheese” is good…deliciously addictive!

I have been tuning on Melrose 2.O since the beginning and I ‘ll continue that way. Heather looks fabulous, but I’ll give my final appreciation after seeing her in HD.
Though I’m still thinking it’s a bad idea to bring the original character in the sequel. Katie Cassidy is doing a nice job! Why didn’t the producers turn Melrose 1.0 in a movie? Are they also gonna call Doug Savant back? Amanda can’t be without Peter btw!
Doug Savant’s character died in a car accident (off screen) but heck they brought Sydney back so why not Matt. Would be a surprise twist if he’s the killer!!
YES! YES! and YES! It’s great to see Heather. It’s what TV has been missing. She is beautiful and a great actress. Got my TIVO set for her return.
I actually missed last week’s episode because I had written it off after watching the first two episodes of the series. But last night’s ep. was actually really good with the return of Jane. Damn, she was a bitch and it was great! Though, I really hope they get Ashlee Simpson-Wentz out of there. Girl cannot act.
Dear Melrose 2.0,
LOVE the show. Please kill off Ashlee Simpson-Wentz – she sucks the energy out of every scene she’s in. You’re better off without her
She really does. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt just because I don’t care for her as far as ‘celebrities’ go but she’s horrible and just so damn awkward in every scene. I know MP is not supposed to be a show of subtlety but damn, she looks crazy in every single shot.
MELROSE PLACE is one of the best shows on TV. It consistently gets better with every episode! I can’t wait for Heather!
Kill Ashlee Simpson ASAP!
Umm I don t know what ALL the fuss is about … I ve actually WATCHED the show … I LOVED JANE last night, can’t wait to see if Jo’s child that she gave away is one of the new MP 2.0 residents and am drooling over Amanda/Ella showdown! And give ASW (Violet) SOME credit … IF she is Sydney 2.0 she certainly has it down pat !!
I will watch now that Heather is back, but I am a huge Jack Wagner fan (since the Frisco era), and would love it even more if Peter came back. Don’t know if they would want to work together now that they are a real life couple.
Yay! Heather we have missed you! I will watch anything she is on!!!
The new MP is amazing!Love Katie Cassidy and WoW that Augie guy is hot although Riley and Jonah are pretty boring and although Violet is super intriguing Ashlee is less than intriguing.
Augie used to be on All My Children… eye candy since early 2000.
Bringing back Heather Locklear is a ratings winner for sure. Josie Bissett, THomas Calabro, and Laura Leighton (as well as Daphne Zuniga’s appearance will do) only entice viewers of the original MP to watch. So many people are giving this show crap for being too cheesy and just a guilty pleasure, that’s what made the original Melrose… drama! drama! drama! … as for the comments about Ashlee Simpson-Wentz’s acting inabilities, remember Andrew Shue??? He was on for six seasons of the original show and had four facial expressions he alternated between. I think as long as they are written into the canvas of the story, I say bring back the old cast (though not all in the first season, c’mon!). I do hope Michael sticks around though …
she looks better than in her recent mug shot!
Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer are no Aaron Spelling and Darren Star. Period. The remake has absolutely no character appeal, and is clearly horrible. Heather’s choice to participate in the amateurish production is career suicide. Aaron Spelling is a genius and could turn any silly story line into an enticing series. The bozos involved with the remake don’t amount to a wart on Spelling’s ass.
