One of my favorite things about The Big Bang Theory — the thing, in fact, that got me officially hooked on the show in the Read the full post.

I am finding the Penny and Leonard situation slightly boring. Something needs to be added to make their relationship more interesting.
The Penny-Leonard relation will kill the show just like the Diane-Sam relationship nearly killed Cheers. The angst is part of the appeal and the reason for having Penny across the hall from the gang of four’s antics. I still love the show. It’s very funny and very different. But if you really want to turn things upside down…have some tension between Penny & Leonard…then bring back the chubby but very cute doctor and have Leonard rethink things..ie penny isn’t right for him bu the doc is…then the tables turn and Penny is on the other side of unrequited love. And as far as the hour of darkness in between Mother and Bang…I started watching on the DVR at 9:40 (So I can skip the commercials)
I’m with Sherri. I’ve missed quite a few episodes but I find Sheldons and Penny’s interactions much more interesting than Leonard and Penny’s.
Penny is way too “real” to end up in bed with Sheldon…but maybe she has a hot older sister? People like Sheldon never get any…and if they did, it is TEXTBOOK sex! No fun in that!
Is the problem with Leonard and Penny that the storyline is not really moving forward? This show isn’t about character growth or dramatic storylines. I like Penny and Leonard together and I think they open the show up to a lot of new situations where Penny’s world collide with the guys’ world.
I would have to argue that in fact sheldon was not entirely wrong on his hypothesis of the species of cricket. his reasoning that it was a snowy tree cricket was due to the chirps per minute at the temperature of the ROOM, which he explained that he knew because he controlled the thermostat. The temperature outside of the room was out of his control and therefore most likely differed. so when the search for the cricket left the room the bet should have been called off, because the basis by which sheldon made his hypothesis was altered and was out of their control. This should have been realized by the characters, and I would have to call this an oversight by the producer and a mistake in the show. sheldon most probably was correct in his original statement relating the chirps per minute to his room temp to be that of a snowy tree cricket..
Sheldon and Penny will not get together. Sheldon is asexual, he sees sex as useless. I agree we need to see Penny’s friends, her family and Leonard trying to fit into her world and not just her into his always. This is a great show though, so quirky and fun. Less of Wolowitz’ personal life though, I’m sick of his phantom mother. I agree with Maddi, the bath gift item hypothesis is the best episode ever
I want to hug the writers! There were some absolutely brilliant exchanges in this episode. I was on the floor!
I LOVE this show!!! I agree that HIMYM and BBT should be reunited! I think my favorite thing about this show is when Sheldon laughs at himself after explaining his “jokes” to the others. Last night’s laugh in the comic book store took the cake…almost as great as “I am BATMAN!”
Having just recently discovered this show, I have to say I don’t mind the romance but I love Sheldon best. As a nerd myself and proud of it he just takes me back to so many people I have know over my long life. Hats off to the people who thought him up and the actor who plays him. So PERFECT.
Bean Poll? I always thought it was bean pole…..
I would love it if they showed flashbacks of sheldon as a kid!
it would be Hilarious!!Would love to see a sheldon lookalike play Sheldon as a kid!
Love BBT, but HIMYM also deserves a recap!
The first show seemed forced with Penny out of character just jumping at Leonard. The second episode was better (back to nerds with bugs!) but I preferred the almost sexual relationship to the actual relationship with Penny and Leonard such as the CLASSIC episode with Leonard’s mother. I just don’t want the writers to screw up the great chemistry between the five of them. This is one of the few comedies that make me laugh out loud from beginning to end. May the writing and acting continue to be top notch and intelligent. Besides Penny doesn’t need to be slutty to be a TREASURE to watch on screen. Her comedic timing is great.
