'Family Guy"s Disney spoof: Anyone for pie?

I haven’t been the biggest Family Guy fan lately, but I really enjoyed last night’s Disney-fication of the typical Family Guy landscape and characters. Two notable things here: First: All Disney houses/castles really do look like they’re melting, as do most Disney characters’ facial features, especially if said characters are in the process of a slow and leisurely chew. And more important: Far be it for me to scoff at a rather helpful reminder that ‘It’s A Wonderful Day For Pie.’ Because today really is. You know?

Ha! Meg as Ursula! The episode wasn’t all Disney and anti-Semitic, though; plenty of other cultures got the privilege of being mocked as well (otherwise, how would we know we were watching Family Guy?). As if taking a cue from Fringe, Stewie and Brian visited all sorts of parallel universes — The Flintstones, Robot Chicken (“How does it feel to be on a major network for 30 seconds?”) and many more. Anyone else get drawn in by Family Guy? And if you caught The Cleveland Show, be sure to go over and discuss it at Ken Tucker’s Watching TV blog.

LOVED it. Best Family guy episode in a while. I’m a huge fan of the show and never miss an episode, but I’ll admit that last season was pretty lame. This season is off to an outstanding start.

Agree this season is off to the best start in a while, and also loved the Robot Chicken spoof right after it!

Yes! My sister and I were freaking out during the Disny-fied Family Guy. Didn’s Stewie just look so adorable and happy? “Look how gayly we run!” And Meg as Ursuala was fantastic.

Another great Meg moment: when she turns around and is a drooling bulldog.

    Family guy: Best episode ever.

The Cleveland Show: Biggest fail ever.

A vast improvement over last season, but I can’t help but feel that every show on Fox Sunday’s block just feels so very tired. And yes, the less said about Cleveland the better.

Loved the ep. Especially the “Love it/Hate it” bit where the one alternate earth they visited looked like a giant circut party.

I missed the beginning but I kept thinking about Sliders during this episode. That old show with Jerry O’Connell. Ha even made me consider watching an old episode on Hulu/fancast.

pretty sure this took a big cue from Quantum Leap.. Stewie even referenced it towards the end.

      • Kimmi

Definitely caught the Quantum Leap Reference, but I’m pretty sure they referred to Sliders in there too :P
I must agree though, definitely one of the best episodes in a while.

Meg as Ursula… I couldn’t stop laughing! HILARIOUS!!!

I loved how Brian and Stewie visit an alternative universe where Christianity never took hold, so society is 1000 years more advanced!

  • Andrew

Probably the funniest family guy episode ever! very well done for once.

LOL! I absolutely loved the episode and would have to agree that this is one of the best ones yet! Couldn’t stop laughing when they visited the universe where Meg was hot and Stewie said something like “if you saw what Louis looked like, your penis would need a wheelchair”!!

i honor your penis by bringing it food.

    GREAT LINE.
