Let just hope they get some actresses they can blame if it fails. Did you see the snow job EW did on Megan Fox over Jennifer’s Body – yeah, cause the script wasn’t why the movie bombed.
Hate to state the obvious, but come on – Leighton Meester was born to play Lila Fowler. The *censored*-year-old in me demands it.
I’m almost too excited! This just has to be done right..no screwing around with this material. Meaning…NO MODERN UPDATES. As far as casting goes I really think unknowns are a must! I do like some of the names tossed out such as… Britney Snow, Mandy Moore and even Maggie Grace. Personally I would like Rachel McAdams if you need to go with a name. I don’t want the cast filled up with Disney kids or the cast of Gossip Girl!

I’m really hoping for more of a Clueless or Josie and the Pussycats (the movie) slant; a bit playful, which I think is what Cody would do with it. Campy! Even when I read those books I thought they were corny, I was just a big reader and they were popular books so I kept reading them. I have no idea on actors.. I’m thinking unknown Jessica and Elizabeth with some cult favorite bigger names in the supporting cast.

i have always thought that Marley Shelton would have been the perfect Elizabeth/Jessica Wakefield. Too bad they didn’t make SVH into a movie when she was a teenager!
i think that the best bet for casting jessica and elizabeth would be an unknown actress. i know that if hillary duff or hayden panetierre were cast, svh would be ruined for me
What about the blonde twins that were in Deck the Halls? I think they’d be great for Sweet Valley! Whoever they cast it should be actual twins, NO SPLIT SCREEN!
I think they should case REAL twins…
and I don’t care what hair color or size they are. the books were about being twins!
I think Julianne Hough would be perfect as Liz/Jess. She could definatly imitate Jessica cutting loose at the Beach Disco with Skip Harmon. (Help me! I’ve turned 11 again!) How about Johnny Pacar as Todd or Bruce?
