Season 3 had numerous issues, but even knowing that, I still enjoyed Heroes in a mindless-action-show kind of way. After watching the premier…I’m not so hopeful.
There are just too many signs that the writers are going through the motions again with another group of baddies. How is Sylar still lingering around, while virtually every other villain gets extinguished? (Hell, how come most of the characters post-season 1 don’t stay around for too long?) At least the carnival folks are more ambiguous figures, but only time will tell if they’ll spark new life into the show.
HRG’s still intriguing. Peter’s also watchable, though what’s with his instant mastery on techniques he just acquired, versus people who’ve had them for a while? Knife guy should’ve beaten Peter, not the other way around.
Hiro? Please kill him. What a waste of a potentially great character.
Oh and Claire’s college life? Not interesting in the least. Even as a gamer, that Guitar Hero session made me cringe. Claire’s roommate’s behavior was so unsubtle, it predicated her eventual suicide. No wonder Kring was so desperate to tease viewers over the foreshadowed lesbianism.
Overall, a C. I’m glad I watched House over this.

When normal people exert themselves, they tire. They need rest, water, food, sleep. These heroes perform superhuman feats as if they were nothing. This is the fundamental problem with Heroes: too powerful people acting too powerfully all the time. If, after using a power, they needed rest, food, water, sleep, or wait for a ‘recharge’, etc., there would be more vulnerability, more complexities and more plot possibilities. Future creators of future superhero type shows should take note.

I’ve already spent 3 season into this, gotta see how it ends. 1st season was great, and the mid-3rd season was good(the whole capturing of heroes by nathans order). It’s like we go in and out of good here. I still dont see why they couldn’t use Claire blood to revive nathan instead of risking Sylar pretending to be nathan. Just another heroes plot for you i guess.

For all the WHINING people looking for more action and less talk scenes and Blah Blah Blah ! have you so called local fans READ the budget for Heroes has been CUT! not only do they no longer have the money to show all the actions and powers as before. Now you complain a show that has no other show like it as far as heroes or superhuman characters for that manner, minus supernatural smallville (both my favorites)some of you so critics act like you want a blockbuster movie every time the 1 hr show comes on good gracious ppl grow the heck up shut up and watch or just turn of the freakin deakin tv and read a book or watch a movie if thats the kind of action you seek every single time an hr long tv show comes or better yet I tell you what heroes has well over 5 million fans who watch every week why don’t each and every 1 of you or US give 1 dollar a week thats just 4-5 dollars a month not only to ad to the already I believe 1 mil per episode they lost in budget for special effects and so forth but they get that back plus ad 1 million more and that will leave 3 million more to either extend the season or bring in some darn good writers to move the storyline along faster and also be able to spin around certain ppl only here and there as suggested in earlier crying comments I have read

Please, please, please STOP THE SYLAR! We’re F*’ING SICK OF HIM!

They couldn’t let ONE episode go by without bringing him back? Please? Just one episode he’s NOT in?

I almost didn’t watch the premier, but I’m glad I did. I thought it ruled! Best new concepts since the first season. Seems less forced and more interesting possibilities. Even if it’s the last season, maybe it will be a redemption.

I decided after the season finale last year that I was DONE with HEROES after being a loyal viewer since the beginning.

I will continue watching Heroes, just because Milo Ventimiglia is my favourite actor and I want to know what will happen to Peter. But I don’t find interesting the story of the other characters anymore

I was sure I was going to give Heroes up after this premiere, after being someone extremely proud of her commitment to Heroes all through three seasons no matter how bad, predictable, and lame the storylines and characters got. But then I watched the season premiere and although FAR from being good or properly redeeming, there were enough good points (and the bad points were comical enough) that I might actually bother to continue watching (that is, DVRed episodes when I find some spare time). I really like the carny folk, and for the first time in forever is Peter’s nice guy behaviour actually interesting and refreshing. And, although everything about the Matt/Sylar storyline referred to far better scenarios (firstly, the already noted BSG subconscious nestling cylons incredibly lamed-down by Ricky Worthy’s appearance; secondly, the use of a substance abuse program to refer to a substance no one else has in common like in season 2 of Dexter (except that Dexter wasn’t even trying to get better and his “power” of serial killing is far more interesting); and thirdly, the whole bad cop, uneasy marriage calls back to the far superior new series FlashForward’s main characters), I actually found Zachary Quinto’s performance to be wonderful. Of course, especially with Star Trek’s (and his) success, he’s really too good for the show anymore, but he was fun to watch. So Heroes is definitely nowhere near my favourite show like it used to be back in its first season, but I might actually bother watching. Plus, the way it’s going, it’s not going to last much longer anyway, right (God, I hope so)?
