Paula totally dominated the Vh1 Divas show! Performances were all boring and unmemorable, but Paulas intro, her HILARIOUS Ellen impression and her banters with Kathy and Liza stand out in my memory (she was soo cute when she took her shoes off and ran off the stage barefoot like a little girl) . she nailed everything except the opening monologue which was a bit over rehearsed/forced, but everything else was great fun to watch

Interestingly, the only review I’ve read so far that was less-than-flattering is from Slezak, who has been dogging Paula Abdul for years. Even the poll embedded in your own article disagrees with you. Lordy, it’s almost as if this woman did something years ago to personally offend you and you can’t let go. Well, who could blame her?
I’m just glad I DVR’d it so I could get through it faster. Paula was awful and just TOO painful to watch. I’m still trying to figure out Miley Cyrus as a Diva and her screaming with Sheryl Crow on stage–Sheryl is the Diva. And I concur with the only real duet…Kelly and Melissa.
Being a Paula fan, I am giving her every benefit. But honestly, it was like watching a train wreck in slow motion. I actually felt sorry for her. BUT there is blame to be handed around. In addition to Paula’s professional shortcomings during the show, the hair/makeup, wardrobe, & writers also deserve criticism; to note a couple, Miley’s UGLY big-bow dress to Paula’s ill-fitting wig.. c’mon,did they run out of money, or were they INTENTIONALLY being tacky?
What the heck people? You can’t expect much from a show with Paula Abdul as the host and a generation of singers and artists who can barely speak coherently, much less sing live. Music has gone down from the good ol days, with the exception of a few talented artists. Where was Beyonce? Rihanna? Carrie Underwood? Kelly Clarkson is the only one I support being there. Miley Cyrus is an absolutely appalling performer. She doesn’t even dance, and she tries to act like she is a 30 years old seasoned veteran performer. She had a stupid Disney sitcom and any girl who hasn’t hit puberty yet buys her stuff-though I admit her songs are catchy. But as for any true talent? Let’s just say “I CAN wait to see her again” live.
You’re full of inconsistencies. Why would you not expect much from a show that Paula was a host of? Seems like American Idol always gets extremely high ratings, and I’m sure Paula had something to do with the success of the show. You do realize that Kelly Clarkson sang live on American Idol I hope. BTW, she won American Idol season 1 a few years back. Oh yeah, seems like Jordan Sparks did pretty well also on American Idol. You may have even heard about Jennifer Hudson? No? But you approve of Beyonce? Rihanna? Carrie Underwood? Beyonce’s hyper jibber-speak gets on my nerves real quick and I’ve never heard Rihanna sound all that impressive, unless you think her monotonish ella-ella-ellaish note(s) sounds neat. But you hate Miley for being a bad dancer, even if she can dance circles around all of the other singers that showed up. And, FYI, she still has a Disney sitcom.
