thursday nights r my favorite nights. i start watching t.v from 8:00 until 11:00 and this show was on my sched. to watch, how ever i may be changing it soon. the show was pretty funny but i’m not sure if it will catch on. i’ll probably watch the 2nd episode so i can get a feel for it. it doesn’t beet the office and glee tho :D

i LOVE Joel McHale from The Soup so i was so excited to watch him in Community. i will definitely continue watching, which says a lot for me. the only other non-reality shows i watch are The Office and Scrubs. i love reality, but also a good comedy.

I thought Joel McHale was annoying and talked and not funny at all. I did enjoy the show. The blonde chick needs a little more personality though.

Well I didn’t fall in love instantly but I do think it has a lot of potential and after reading these comments I am enjoying it more. Perhaps the fast pace was what threw me or the feeling that McHale was a bit forced.

It’s not the best out there but I ended up watching it twice. It’s funny enough that I’ll keep watching

    I liked it!

Overall, I’d say the only problem with this show is bad directing. The pacing is too fast, and that’s the director’s fault. They should have Harmon direct his own stuff until they can find someone who “gets” Harmon’s brand of satire, and how to best present it. Right now, the show looks like it’s on crack. Lines are being wasted, because they fly by so fast, the viewer misses them entirely. It’s not the actor’s fault. They have to trust in the overview of the director, and right now, the director is in over his head, and it’s making everyone look bad.
They should let (or force) Harmon to direct his own stuff, or let someone hand-picked from Harmon’s crew from Channel 101 direct it.
Harmon’s stuff on 101 has an organic flow that is missing entirely on this show, and that’s a shame.
They’re paying big bucks for Harmon’s vision. Give him more creative room. Let him get the director, and editor, or make him do it himself.
