Anyone catch last night’s Man vs. Food on the Travel Channel? It turns out Sarasota’s late-night spot Munchies 420 is exactly what I’ve been searching for my whole life. Since Adam Richman already has some CSI: Miami-esque opening credits (pictured) in the bank, I propose an entire spin-off series strictly devoted to Adam taking on every Fat Sandwich this place offers, one week at a time. (I will be his understudy.) Come on! The only menu item he actually sat for was 10 hot wings! Granted, he felt a sea urchin in his chest cavity just from smelling them and then ended up crying and begging for milk after only a few, so that was entertaining. But the show shouldn’t leave us hanging without further crime scene investigation of trip-inducing/enhancing treats like the Fat Sandy, a tantalizing cross-section of which is presented below.
Chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, two cheeseburgers, and golden-fried spuds. TOPPED WITH MAC AND CHEESE. Could you handle it?

that picture doesn’t capture how truly toxic the dish looked on television last night…it was really gross.

Adam Richmond is hilarious and “Man vs. Food” totally rocks. Our whole family loves it every week. My boys in particular wish they were his “wingmen” on his gastronomical adventures. They’d love that pictured item. Me, not so much anymore. At least all of it…
AH our perfect late night snack from Sarasota High school. haha I remember this place well… Never did anything too daring there though I do remember good chicken fingers.
You perfectly echoed my disappointment at last night’s show. Hasn’t he tried enough hot wings, including ones with the infamous “ghost pepper?” I wanted to see him take on one of the 10-pound sandwiches too. He wimped out, plain and simple. Adam R was once my eating idol. I took part in a corn-eating contest this summer inspired by him. Next year, I eat corn for me alone — and for my fans. I think he’s peaked, he just doesn’t have the stomach for that show anymore.
Like eating contests, the show repulses me. Adam Richman isn’t funny and always makes the same inane comments about the food. Man-as-pig doesn’t do it for me.
Please put a munchies location in Philadelphia please! !!!!!

You missed the boat on having more people coming to your place. Hot food is not a way to get customers. A xlrg sandwich would have been the way to go.

I live in St. Pete, Munchies is about an hour drive south for me… I can’t wait to take the trip to try out that fat sandy!…. my only problem is the store hours 4:20pm is funny but not practical… I work nights, and kids are in school durring the day… I want to go there for lunch, why can’t they open earilier!!!!! pleeeeeze
