I think the columnist has never been around real club members before. Some of the stuff I’ve heard far surpasses that of which I’ve heard on SoA.

Initally I too found it hard to watch this show with a bunch of elderly looking men (one who walks with an oxygen tank) act as thought they were the badass crew. But Gemma definitely makes the show more entertaining. Especially with the attack she has been through. I am looking forward to seeing what happens when Jax finally finds out what happened to his mother.

Missed the entire first season but caught the first episode of the second season…I am hooked!! Went out the next day and bought the first season on DVD. Telling all of my friends and family to start watching!!!

someone may have already mentioned this… but… maybe this line “You think I brought you here to Adriana you?” was supposed to be funny/ironic … because “Adrianna” or Drea DeMatteo – played Jax’s ex-wife/mother of his baby in the first season.

I am a huge fan of this show. I bought Season 1 on DVD for my b/f and I ended up watching it with him from start to finish. It only took us 2 weeks to get through b/c we just couldn’t turn it off. And now we are watching Season 2 on the DVR. If a show can make me laugh and cry along with it then its a great show and I was definately in tears by the end of the Season 2 premiere. Katey Segal was fantasic in that scene.

I’ve been a fan of this show since the first season. I have to admit, the first couple of episodes didn’t completely keep my attention. As the season progressed, I think the story line really reeled you in.

I’m excited for this season to see how complex they will make Opie with his emotions. I think he has the most character of all. And Gemma is badass. Such a 180 from Peg Bundy and I love it.

Katey Segal is a powerhouse! I am thrilled there is a tough bad-ass woman on TV for a change. Unlike many of the actresses who play “tough” women on TV right now K.S. is one I BELIEVE would shot me or kick my butt. This biker culture is completely foreign to me but I love it and it seems believably well-cast to me. I love these actors are not the most “pretty” people but are people that are more representative or the real population. I was hooked on this show (spoiler alert) when the ATF stalker was going to sexually assault her and Jax just shoots him! So satisfying. Keep football for your sublimation fantasy, mine is Sons of Anarchy.

Do we really need any more hate promoting programing? We found the show too gritty, too ugly and too hate filled. Misogynist crap. Will not be tuning in again.

The Adriana reference bugged me soo much. It was way over the top, not only for the reasons you state, but also because it totally broke immersion. I really enjoy SoA, it’s good entertainment, but that one line destroyed the whole episode. And a little bit of the whole series. What were they thinking?

We decided to DVR the show when FX replayed it from the beginning. Love the Gemma character! Didn’t know Charlie was British–but now I’ll be listening more closely. Some scenes have been a bit rough and my mouth has dropped open with a “WTF?!” The Tara character had me torqued because she’s supposed to be a doctor, yet they wrote her as behaving like an idiot. Maybe there is more to her story. The character of Tig (I remember the actor from CSI Miami) I think he suspects something happened to Gemma because he seems to be watching her closely. In spite of some of the rougher action, I do enjoy the show and am looking forward to how it develops. You can’t judge a show by only watching a couple of episodes–shows take time to gel.

This is my absolute favorite show on TV right now. Katey Sagel is simply amazing and continues to get more amazing with every episode. If she isn’t at least nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe, then any respect I have for those institutions will be gone.

This is one of the best shows on TV right now. If you were a fan of “The Shield” or “The Wire”, you will like this show…it’s good to start with season 1 and endure until episode 7 or 8. That is where it really finds its footings and starts to take off. The first episodes aren’t BAD but I can see how persons would lose interest if those were all they knew. Give it a chance :)

This is my favorite TV show, actually it is the only show I watch on tv. Watched all of Season 1 on DVD in one day and am completely hooked. The characters have so much depth, it takes more than a few episodes to show their various sides. Is it dark, gritty and voilent, absolutely, hence the Mature Audience warning shown serval times during an episode, but it is also funny, over the top and makes you think about issues in other prospectives. Kurt Sutter is brillant and the actors truly do a wonderful job. So there are some minor annoyances but what of it. Television is supposed to entertain it’s audiences, this is a drama, not a reality show (thank goodness there are too many of them already IMHO). If you don’t like it you are in control of the remote, change the channel, if you are a fan then tune in and hang on for the ride (no pun intended), and if you don’t have an opinion then give the show a fair chance. Everytime you watch an episode you learn more about a character’s history, which is why it is called developing a character and watching it unfold. Just my opinion.
