Amazon.com shows cds for for some old”losers” like Eli and Bianca. Strangely, Cas Haley’s was discontinued by the manufacturer. Barbara was a clear winner last night and deserves a career. Maybe someone can get her in touch with Andrea Bocelli.
Also, a variety show of past near winners should be in the works with updates on their lives.

  • Picard

    America can’t vote for talent

    • Nate

Always true. Seeing how many people THINK they can sing in the Idol auditions, it is clear that 90% of America can’t spot true talent when they see it. Very poor choice for the winner this year.

    • paul

We don’t count has anybody ever seen any of these so called votes!
All this is, is away for the phonne providers to cash in and the producers to get a pay check! The staging sucks and the sound is even worse!!!

  • Lynda Ferreira

I wouldn’t pay to go see Skinner, in Las Vegas or anywhere else. People need to ask themselves a question…Would I pay $50-$75 or more to watch this person ? And can they keep it going for 90 minutes? Skinner cannot!!

    • dave

if that’s the case then only one or 2 groups should have one. Cause I don’t see that many people paying that kind of money in Vegas other then to see Hairo or Percussion. With all the other shows there NONE of the other contestants will do well Vegas.

      • Sarah

Yea, I’m kinda suprised that people aren’t commenting more on how amazing Hairo was. He was kind of unbelievable. It was between him and Barbara for myself.

      • CJay

I really don’t get the love for Hairo. Yes, the things he can do are amazing, but I found his performances to be be boring and forgettable. I was surprised he even made the top ten.

  • pat

I cannot believe that Kevin won – I believe the show is fixed (scripted) – he can’t carry a tune but he can cry at the drop of a hat – and the young man that played the blues on the guitar didn’t even make the first cut -

  • bootythang

People , Let’s get REAL about this. Let’s say no one had seen Britain’s Got Talent . They send over their best talent to sing on our finale. No one has said Susan Boyle can not carry a note, everyone raved about her performance last night. Now let’s turn the tables. America sends Kevin Skinner to the UK to sing in their finale. Keep in mind the audience will not have seen any of his performances as he is not the viral wonderkind that Susan was. This will confirm to all of the UK that the American public has jumped the shark. But on a good note , at least the show kept a job in America instead of outsourcing to south of the border !!!

    • CaptainChaos

If we were doing a reverse send of contestants, we’d be sending Barbara Padilla to Britain’s Got Talent. Susan Boyle came in second, just as Barbara did. Two second place contestants that deserved to win. And for all the Kevin nay-sayers: his first performance was incredible, then nerves caused him to go downhill. With proper training and learning what songs best fit his voice, he has a real shot at a great career. First he needs to find more songs that fit him as well as his first one.

  • Kari

If you can’t say something nice….don’t say anything at all.

    America voted….Kevin Skinner won.

    God Bless America!

    God Bless Kevin Skinner!

    • JT Chapin

America’s Got Talent? Sure, tons of it. but don’t give the public any opporunity to pick it out. A beautiful lady with a beautiful voice losing to a nasal no-talent guy with and no octave range and who can’t carry a tune is travesty beyond belief. Rednecks loaded up the phone/blackberry lines. Our family has watched this show for the last time. I’m emailing all my friends and asking them to do the same.

      • Fran

FYI….the public picks talent all the time….in the form of buying CDs. When they give performances, like the ones Kevin will give in Vegas, it’s just to promote their CDs.

      • motown

        hate much? You are disgusting.

    • Chris T

Yes and God Bless the Fix Cause the results where certainly FIXED. A POOR COUNTRY CHICKEN CATCHER WINS A MILLION WOW WHAT A PUBLICITY SCAM WICH IS JUST WHAT IT WAS FOR THE SHOW. AND PIERCE STANDING UP FOR HIS EVERY PERFORMANCE MADE ME SICK AND PROVED IT WAS FIXED AND HOW KEVIN USED HIS TEARS EVERY WEEK TO GET MORE VOTES…..GOD BLESS HIM IT WORKED.

    • al metcalf

Oh PLEASE!!! Go back to your 80′s psychology class…..Kevin should not have won and I really wonder how he did. Of course, the same can be said of Obama, maybe there is a pattern here!?!

      • sandee

This isn’t a forum for mentioning politics.

      • Former AGT Watcher

        Obama is a better singer.

      • idiot watch

Al, you stupid sicko – all those Tea Parties are warping your mind.

  • Mel

Kevin’s first performance was amazing. He faltered a bit, but it was his genuine humbleness that won over America. We are all falling on hard times and Kevin was unemployed. People relate to that.I think he’ll do just fine.

    • Nicole

Yes, but the show isn’t called America’s got Genuine Humbleness. He had a good first performance, after that he picked songs that were beyond his range. His voice was flat, and on Monday, it was so weak that his backup singers were overpowering him!!

Maybe, if they get him a vocal coach that he works with every day, he might have a chance in Vegas.

    • elly parkerson

How could his performance be “amazing” and “falter a bit” aat the same time? Barbara should have won….hands down!

      • Greg

Wrong! Barbara is a classically trained Opera singer which there is not a great demand for. Face the facts, people don’t go to Vegas to hear an Opera singer. Really, you can find one in just about every major city in America. What you can’t find is a guy with great guitar skills who sings with the kind of emotion that just about every song he sings, touches your heart. And that, my friends is why Kevin Skinner won.

  • Jenny

Here’s my take on it. If you watched the finals closely you will notice that the Texas Tenors, Recycled Percussion and Barbara were not upset. They actually looked quite happy. My guess is they already have contracts in the works. And I really hope that’s the case because they were all deserving of a win.

    • Katie

Haha no I doubt it – hardly any of the past “AGT” finalists made it past the show (despite how the judges KEPT saying “THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING FOR YOU!!!”)

Even the actual *winners* of AGT aren’t very successful after their vegas shows. Can you even name the past winners? I know I can’t anymore.

      • Garrett

        Katie,

Terry Fator’s Vegas show has been wildly successful and has netted him a separate, multi-million dollar contract. While the others, certainly have been less successful, Fator has been a bona fide Vegas star.

      • Tiffany

Terry Fator is amazing and his vegas show was well worth the money I spent to see it. He neogciated himself a multi-million dollar on-going show that makes him the winningest reality show winner in history. Why? because Terry Fator got talent. Kevin Skinner…not so much!

      • Amye

Just one … Terry Fator. He’s pretty incredible.

    • Linda

I agree. Barbara Padilla needs to be with an Opera company – not headlining in Vegas!

      • Rosemary

Linda, I agree whole heartedly. Barbara definitely would soar with an opera company. Kevin’s gonna do just fine.

    • sandee

that could be the case. Look at Jennifer Hudson. She lost on Idol didn’t she? Look at her now!

      • elly parkerson

Agreed…..Barbara should be with an opera company. I would love to hear her sing with Andrea Bocelli!…and they did get it right when they voted for Terry Fator!…he is now very successful.

      • pinkbunny

Yeah, but I didn’t like her on AI and I don’t like her now. I don’t think she should have made Top 10. HOWEVER, she can sing circles around last night’s winner!

  • GBFan

The yoke is on us, not the chicken catcher. Never again will this program enter our living room.

  • Don Dimsdale

I think this shows that the true American dream belongs to everybody .

  • recyclelady

I liked the guy, but not his singing. I even felt embarassed for him during his brief exposure with Thelma Houston.

    • suzeq

I have NEVER heard such flat singing as when he sang with Thelma Houston – it was worse than all the tone-deaf singers they put in for laughs on the first show. Clearly, the man can sing one wong – and afte that he is TERRIBLE.

      • C. Courtney

        Learn how to spell

  • w. vest

The TEXAS TENORS were the only true Vegas act that I would pay 125 dollars a ticket on. Skinner would have been chewed up and spit out by Simon Cowel in the auditions. This was not a true talent show but a who has the saddest storyline sympathy vote show. Anyway nobody even remembers the group that beat Susan Boyle. One other thing , one of the tenors is my future brother in law. They will come out stars, I truly believe. What an exciting ride for them and as always when one window closes ten more open up. Also the million dollar prize is paid out in a forty year annuity. Have a good one everybody. Warren.

    • sandee

I loooovvveeeddd the Texas boys. They have talent…

    • Rosemary

Texas Tenors were “Cheesey” just like Sharon said the other night. Kevin deserved to win.

    • Tessa

The Texas Tenors were my favs to win with Recycled coming in 2nd. The judges praised them but also repeatedly said they were cheesy (I don’t agree) which I think hurt them because they did come in 4th. I think they have charisma, charm & looks, I would definitely pay to see them.

    • dave

      wow you’d waste $125 on 90 minutes of that…

There you go different tastes for different people. I’m actually shocked they made it to the semis

  • bjth

No offense to Mr. Skinner intended, but his initial performance was a note-for-note recreation of Garth Brooks’ phrasing and styling. Charisma? Zip. Country music has changed. It’s bigger, it’s flashier, it attracts crossover fans from pop and rock. Las Vegas showroom, for an hour? Uh, no. Nevertheless, he is to be congratulated for his win and his (obviously) loyal new fan base who may give him a real career. Who knows?

  • Caspian

Just a little fact checking here – The Texas Tenors made the Top Five. It was the Fab Five that were out with Hairo, Drew, Lawrence and Grandma.
As much as i like Skinners rags to riches story, Recycled Percussion or The Fab Five are much finer Vegas material.

    • Katie

When Fab Five got voted out, it was like a DAGGER to my heart. So sad!! :(

      • Elaine

Me too Katie! I’d have paid to see more of them in a show! Classy, talented and exciting to watch!

  • Sandy

I liked Skinner from the first time I heard him. I think, as the judges said, he has raw talent. With a voice coach, he could be a very good country artist, a through back to old country that we really need. I would pay to see him and I will definitely buy his first album. As far as not being Vegas, he’s not, but talent isn’t all about fitting in to the glitzy Vegas scene. If we were voting just for a “Vegas” act, I would have said that the chainsaw juggling couple should have won. They were all bravado and flash. I prefer Skinner’s type of talent, unassuming and with lots of emotion.

    • sandee

You will be the only one buying his album!

      • Patty

        Wanna bet???

      • Greg

There won’t be anyone buying his album you fool. Unless you are just plain stupid or uneducated, they don’t make albums anymore. They cut CD’s instead. Now, please tell me you have heard of CD’s?

    • AM

      Sandy, Raw Talent???
      Wake up…..
