If Barbara Padilla wins, we should change the show’s title to “America’s Got Opera”. An Opera singer won last year.
What a disappointment….Barbara should have won hands down.
I am totally disgusted with the whole show. I read the comments about Barbara & I disagree; she oozes glamour, charisma & humility. In retrospect, I can appreciate the strange smile, but stil the women is gorgeous. WHAT was all the hoopla about Kevin Skiiner, ick! The man can hardly talk yet along sing; I HAVE heard better karoeoke. I would not pay $1 to hear him sing. When he was singing in the opening scene, it was painful to watch.
I think Fab 5 would have done a great Vegas show & that is what it is all about, singing is great but people pay top money for already estbalished cebs.
BTW, even my 9 year old daughter foud Shakira disturbing, said that was “illegal”.
If you just felt the earth move, it was from all us proud country folks jumping and screaming, especially in Mayfield. If you are surprised by the outcome, consider it from this prespective. It has been a rough couple of years for most Americans: lay offs, forclosures and soaring unemployment rates with bad news of every sort the headline of the day, everyday. Then someone like Kevin catches a break and then captures the heart of people who haven’t had a lot to hope for, for a very long time. So many people identified with him, and they wanted to see something good happen to someone who represented blue collar America. You have a real Cinderfella story, and his winning just made the world seem a little better somehow and helped people to believe again that this country is a place where anything is possible, where even a chicken catcher can become a millionaire. And all those people who haven’t had a great deal of power over anything lately, had the power to vote for someone that represented something they understood.
I’m sorry to disagree; yeah it has been a crappy year, but there were TREMENDOUSLY talented people who may have had a similar story but did not “use it” to get votes.
Cannot believe Skinner won America’s Got Talent. I am done with this show. He will be an embarrassment to himself and to Las Vegas. He cannot carry a tune and should have been booted off long ago. Was this rigged or what!
Don’t worry, many more will fill your place. Congratulations to Skinner, the world is now yours to touch us with your music.

All you people bashing Kevin Skinner remind me of Kanye West at the VMA Awards. Way to GO! Like the old saying goes, “if you can’t say anything nice, then don’t say anything at all”.
Hi guys… I think it is a shame that Barbara didn’t win and that Neal E. Boyd didn’t get the show in Vegas. By the way, I saw on Neal’s site that he will be doing a chat with his fans on October 6th. Is anyone else coming?
