I’m thrilled that New Moon actually looks like a legit movie, unlike Twilight.
The cliff jump hallucination looks beautiful, and I love Kristen’s desperation in Italy, as well as the way she told Edward she belongs with him.
Even Taylor did a good job of conveying Jacob’s anger.
It’s amazing what a decent director with a creative vision can do for a movie.

I will remind you all that Chris Weitz directed “Golden Compass,” which looked good from the trailers but in reality sucked. I am not gonna get too excited until I see it. Because seriously, “Golden Compass” was one of the worst book adaptations I have ever seen.

One could say that about any director. Basically every director, amazing or not, has released at least a few movies that did not live up to their previews.
However, I’m not going to let that take away from the fact that New Moon looks visually stunning, and seems to feature genuine performances. As of now, I’m optimistic.

How many MILLIONS in production and they couldn’t bother with a speech coach to get them to pronouce “Volturi” correctly?
Yeah, it really ticked me off! It seriously wouldn’t of taken much to fix that one tiny vocabulary mistake!
am i the only one that noticed the fight scene at the end of the trailer? they did’t fight while they were with the Volturi at the end , at least not in the book, i know there should be action but not when it changes everything.
I think KStew really improved here. You could see the emotion conveyed in her face as she channels Bella compared to being blunt in Twilight. I like the added action scenes with the Volturi. It makes it more interesting. Chris Weitz did a good job! So did the cast!

Also, Chris Weitz definitely gets an A+ from me starting at the cliff diving sequence.

I would agree with you if it is one of their articles on Twilight make up or a SM comic book. But this is the first official two and a half minute trailer. I would think that is newsworthy.

Um Entertainment weekly- since you are owned by Warner Bros- can you show me where Harry Potter info is on this site. Cause personally not everyone wants to here about Twilight all the time. Its getting a little old hearing about it every where you turn. Actually its getting very old. So pllllease stop. The demographics for Twilight are not as diverse as they are for Harry Potter.

I think that is the whole point that we are trying to make. The media feeds all of you people the thought that Twilight fans are just teeny boppers. There are a lot of adults, including men, that love Twilight. There is a fan base for this. I may not care for ew’s coverage of say Lost, but I just don’t click on the articles. I move past it. Maybe you should do the same.
I agree, I don’t like EW’s coverage of American Idol and Lost, neither are shows I like but I don’t constantly post on those articles and complain. I just move on to something that does interest me.
Maybe these adults should read something that actually constitutes as literature. Something that doesn’t have pop-up pages.

FINALLY!!! A New Moon trailer that has some actual good footage, great music and explains the plot line. This is a true attention grabber, we FINALLY see the Volturi, Italy and some decent action! This is the trailer I have been waiting for, Summit finaly found a way to compete with the multitude of fanvideos that were putting them to shame.

I honestly think that one of the reasons why this trailer is so great is that they showed more than just the relationship between Bella and Jacob. While I have no quarrels with Team Jacob fans and I’m happy they are getting their day in the sun, but it seemed like EVERY single poster and trailer was dedicated to them ignoring the fact that this was also about Bella’s misery and the start of the Volturi, the plot line that would extend until the end of the series. Up to now the scenes we got were mostly Jacob standing around shirtless (can’t complain much there!) but I wanted to see more! I’m glad that they are finally promoting this as more than just a Team Jacob movie because honestly what I was more excited about was FINALLY seeing the Volturi.
I’m glad that they made a trailer for the adult fans finally. The last one of everyone being shirtless every frame was a clear ploy to get the attention of the teen fanbase. And agree that the inclusion of more Volturi was also great.
