With 4.9 million viewers, the series debut of The Vampire Diaries became the most-watched premiere in the history of The CW. Star Ian Somerhalder, who plays bad bloodsucker brother Damon, feels like celebrating — by taking your questions. Post them below before end of day, Sept. 14. ok- so they say that Damon really doesnt care or regret anything right? so why is he determined to make stefans life living hell if he doesnt regret the suicide of Katherine? does he secretly regret losing her because of his brother?
err. its a lot more complicated than that. read the books. if the show doesn’t follow what happened in the books, i wil be so upset. i thought it was a great twist.

Is it hard work being so magically delicious? OK, got that out of my system, my real question is: I’m so excited to see you coming home for Lost’s finale season. Any idea how many episodes you’ll be back for & do you know if Maggie Grace might be returning as well? (And for the record, I loved Boone – just not his John Locke apprenticeship. Plus, coincidentally, he was magically delicious too!)
On that note: you seemed to have quite some chemistry with Maggie Grace’s character on “Lost.” Any chance of a reunion of sorts or if Maggie will guest star on TVD?
Ask him if he knows if/when Young Americans will ever be on DVD. I know it was just one big Coke ad, but I liked him and Kat Moenig on it. Also, I have no interest in the current stupid vampire craze, but Ian’s the kind of hot you don’t say no to, so, CW, you broke me.

Alright, I know that Boone was completely different to play than Damon, but what I want to know is which on is/was more FUN to play? I mean, are you the sweet Boone inside or are you leaned more towards Damon *because* of the craze and evil?

Do you think there wouod be a possiblity of romance between Damon and Bonnie, cause there is some hints on the books, and even at Smith’s site, but do you think Damon could fall for Bonnie in the show?
And I really think you do a great job, at playing someone so complex and at the same time so simple.
Damon kinda reminds me of Bellatrix Lestrange, in the wicked sense. But Damon is not so demented.
And my other question, would be
What is the part about Damon’s character you like the most, or the part you feel most comfortable with?
Will we see more than just this vengeful, evil side of Damon? I love how unapologetically bad he is, but I’d like to see different facets of his character. You did a great job being evil, by the way. Damon was the best part of the premiere, in my opinion. And not just because you’re nice to look at.
