Come on America. ellen is just an extra chair between Randy and Kara. You might as well as have an actual empty chair there for the comments and advice she says to the contestants. Nevermind she has no background in this industry. Her comments never help or correct what mistakes they make. A true disaster on their hands for the producers of this lame duck show.

I love Ellen as a comedian but she has no music industry cred. And having a fourth judge is a bad idea. End of story.

This is the end for me and American Idol! This woman has not background that qualifies her to judge a SINGING competition! As a result, I can only consider the reasons for hiring her highly suspect. NO MORE AMERICAN IDOL FOR ME! I WILL NOT WATCH THE NEW SEASON

I’m sorry, but the most insane part of this whole blog, is that the writer’s favorite TV show is American Idol. I mean, seriously. Is she even slightly aware that there’s actual quality TV on, that’s even scripted. AI has become a joke these past few years. The whole franchise has jumped the shark, and I just wish America would follow suit and push this tired show into the deep end.

I guess this is the end of this program, why with all the talent out there would you pick this person? well I know that I will be turning off the tv now, it is too bad Paula got a little greedy, now see what they settled for.

Why didn’t they dump Kara, keep Paula or give Ellen a try if they had to get rid of Paula. I have never though Kara added anything to the show and couldn’t understand why they added her in the first place.

Total agree with Slezak. Having a “nice” voice does not qualify anyone to be a judge on AI. Ellen is a great comedian NOT a music icon. I can’t even fathom where AI is headed with this decision. It compromises what little remained of the integrity of this show. I have been a faithful fan but I, now, find myself thinking that AI has had its day and its time to move on. You know, we have all had our moments at Paula’s expense, but last season I came to respect her committment to the contestants and her positive attitude. So she always tried to find something good to say about each contestant. What’s so wrong with that? It’s hard to stand up there everyweek singing your heart out. Everybody needs a cheerleader like Paula. With Ellen, I’m afraid the contestants will just end up being the punch line.

Why don’t people “wait” and give Ellen a chance. I remember when they didn’t want Paula on there either. But, she turned out alright. You need to give people a chance. Believe me if the public doesn’t like her after awhile. She’ll be gone.
