These two new “old” guys are horrible. The chemistry is awful and I can barely sit through watching them. Bring the Ben’s back…PLEASE! In fact, can anyone tell me how to protest this. At the movies used to be one of my favorite shows, now, I can’t stand to watch it. The Ben’s at least brought a fresh vibe and made good points on their opinions. The average person doesn’t need in depth details on the movie like your being taught by school teacher. Lame. I want a couple of guys with good chemistry who are entertaining telling me what they think. Way better. This old guys need to go or I’m turning it off.
I’m so glad that the show has changed, the Bens’ sucked. I do wish that it went back to just a see it or skip it rating system. While people have made good points about rent it, when they say it I don’t feel like they are taking in the theatre experience. A movie like transformers might be a rent it type movie but is better seen in a big theatre than at home. The ratings should be based on if you should watch it not where you should watch it.
So glad I tuned in last week. I had stopped watching for some time. Made it part of my schedule this week. Glad to be back.
Glad to see the show has been revamped again. I did think Phillips and Roeper had the best chemistry since the Siskel/Ebert days. Hope they can get together again. Don’t mind the “rent it” as it’s kind of like a “C” grade (rather than just an A or F with thumbs up or down). Did not care for the 2 Bens and hated the guest panel reviewers at the end of those shows.
What a great step forward with Scott & Phillips. The two Bens were simply unwatchable and incredible.
Love the three choices. Rent it is definitely a category in our house. Really like Phillips and love Scott. Always look for his reviews in the Times and his article this weekend about movies & kids was great — and timely. Always like Roeper too and would love to see him on this, or other show again. Any news on that front anyone?
Oh, and yes, At the Movies is back in my DVR to do list. Yea!
I’m not going to watch or rent a movie because Scott or Phillips recommend it. The newspaper film critic is so retro. I’d rather read Ebert’s blog. He is so much more knowledgeable than either Scott or Phillips. And the “rent it” category just makes it worse.
