What I learned this summer:
True Blood fans are no different from Twilight fans, really.
1. I’m in love with NYC. My friend and I walked all the way to Greenwich Village just to see Carrie Bradshaw’s brown-stone lol. That same day we saw Cobra Starship open for Katy Perry and she had special guests 3OH!3 perform (awesome show) plus Donald Trump and Rihanna were at the show haha.
2. Shows like “Glee” re-new my faith in TV. Musical numbers+close to average looking characters+witty lines=fabulous. If this show goes the way of “Freaks and Geeks”,”My So Called Life,” and “Pushing Daisies” i will cry
3. Lastly, i learned that there are a fair amount of performers out there who do have extensive education and who do have superb talent to show for it like Kristin Chenoweth. Her book “A Little Bit Wicked” is funny, insightful, sad, and moving.
I learned that I’m attracted to standoffish guys with pointy ears (star trek)
I learned that basic cable nets have found how to attract increasing audiences each summer. The broadcast nets are not yet seeing it ANYTIME of the year. Could it possibly involve quality, compelling, entertaining series? Perhaps 13 episode seasons are shorter, but the talent and resources are less stretched and allow for better TV?
I learnt that ew is twilight obsessed since they managed to squeeze two twilight covers this summer…
I learned that, if I see one more EW cover with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, or whatever the latest Twilightweight precious is, I may just cancel my subscription.
I learned that no matter how crappy Twilight was I am still just as excited for New Moon.
I learned that if you an abcessed leg, there is no waiting for care at the ER, you get treated right away (My husband).
I learned that not all hospital shows are sappy and rated pg13 (Nurse Jackie).
I learned that TPTB really hate the viewer as they have loaded all my fav shows on Thursdays.
I learned that it really is possible to hate a reality star contestant THAT much (Natalie, BB11).
And yes I teared up about the pixar story too..
