'Twilight in Forks' documentary trailer: Bored now

Categories: Books, DVD/Video, Movies, Twilight

Has the first teaser for the Oct. 15 straight-to-DVD documentary release Twilight in Forks — The Saga of the Real Town left anyone else underwhelmed? The idea of focusing a camera on Forks, Wash., the rainiest city in America and the setting for Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, is a good one. But the producers should have come out swinging with more than a local woman saying she doesn’t know any vampires and an Alice Cullen wannabe. Of course, that’s what we want to see: That some Forks citizens (presumably) hate their town’s sudden fame and tourism, while others embrace it. But this teaser just confirms that the assumed dichotomy exists. (Also that director Catherine Hardwicke did a wonderful job recreating Forks’ trees for the Twilight movie, which shot primarily in Portland, Ore.) The footage doesn’t surprise or shock. Is it enough to make you pre-order, or will you hold out for more?

why on earth would anyone, even the most wack ‘twihard’, purchase this. no comprende.

What makes this so ridiculous is that all Meyer did was look up the rainiest place in the U.S. and set her story there. Forks could have been a one stop sign cow path off the highway for all she knew. Yet now it’s like some kind of Mecca for vampire groupies. If those people have any smarts, they’d build a theme park and rake in the dough.

this looks really lame..worse than the movie! which i like better than the first book!-cant wait 4 midnight New Moon tho! :)

Everyone is trying to make money off of this cash cow now. It is pathetic. And I’m a Twilight fan. It’s people like this that make us look bad.

      ok then

Love the Buffy quote! Nice job!

That is such a stupid idea. How can you spend a whole movie talking about a rainy, dreary, Northwest small town. Even if it is the setting for Twilight. I am slowly distancing myself from these books. First the movie, then barbies, now stupid documentary?!?! I’ll just wait for Eclipse to come out, which will surely be the best one.

Wow…just actually watched the trailer. Looks like one of those movies you watch in school where a guy walks around ST. Petersburg, Russia and asks mind-numbing questions.

Personally, I like documentaries like this, and I’m not even a Twilight fan. I think this could be interesting. I love learning about small towns, and I’m curious as to the effect Twilight has had on the people who live there.

Tell the truth..the only reason this was posted is because EW is required by law to mention something…anything… about “Twilight” at least once a day.

Truth is, however lame, tons of fans will still buy it. You can’t put all Twilight fans in a box…there are soo many of us…we cover ever demographic. So even if one group of Twilight fans hate it, another demographic group will probably still like it, or at least buy it.

It’s actually going to be pretty interesting. I’m in it, so naturally I’m going to say that, but seriously – York Baur and Jason Brown have wonderful ideas, and the doc is going to be fantastic

I’ve been to forks and there’s nothing exciting about it. This will be the most boring documentary ever created.

  • Brittany

I made it about a minute and half into this trailer before stopping becuase the music was so ridiculously annoying and the cinematography was so amateur that it was actually painful to watch.
