I really don’t see a lot to dread over. It seems to me that Disney is taking initiative to compete with AOL Time Warner. Some changes that could come out of this is new series titles (these are going from decent to best ideas):
5. The Madkap Misadventures of the Muppets
4. Disney Stories, Starring Mickey and Friends (These two would be good so long as they do not cross over to the Marvel Universe)
3. The Incredibles (a series based on everybodies’ favorite super-family)
2. Kingdom Hearts (an original series based on the game franchise, and not the comic adaptation of the game’s story line that plagues Tokyo Pop)
1. Gargoyles (bring the franchise back the main stage along with the potential spin-off titles as well). This title could work as a cross-over as well. Think about it, Brooklyn teaming up with Wolverine. The idea would be sweet.
another possibility is Marvel Mangaverse (remember that one-shot nugget) being liscenced to Tokyo Pop.
If there are still people dreading Marvel and Disney, then tell yourselves what I keep telling me: It can’t be any more lame than the DC/Looney Tunes team up.
I apologize for the spelling errors if any. I’m doing the best with the spell check I’m working with.
Amazing! The Walt Disney Company acquired Marvel Entertainmaint for 4 Billion US Dollars. I can’t wait to see Spider-Mouse vs. Donald Hulk, guest starring Gooferine!

im scared
Good thing they didn’t buy DC Comics. I can’t imagine The Dark Knight’s Joker attending the Mickey Mouse breakfast party.
Three drawings, that I feel capture the weirdness of this merger. http://wineink.blogspot.com/
I pray that this does not happen. Disney’s core franchises are surgically clean, designed for kiddies. Marvel is the polar opposite. the Marvel universe that we know and love is rife with darkness, blood, gore, sex and violence. And i for one like it that way. Will Disney sanitise the M universe to fit into it’s demographics? Oh god forbid. Will Disney lose revenue because lame parent stop supporting it franchisees because of the dark association with Marvel? Oh it make me sick to my stomach the thought of loss we dc/marvel fans may lose is this alliance occurs.
The thought of Disney having anything to do with my beloved Marvel makes me want to take a nose dive off the nearest cliff. I think Disney should stick with making its sugar-coated kid’s crap and Marvel should stick to making kick-*** comics. And if they do buy Marvel I just hope they leave Deadpool alone.
NOPE! Does not compute.
I’m sorry, when I heard the news about Disney taking over Marvel… I about cringed and felt overwhelmed with disappointment! Can you imagine Disney making Punisher movies? How screwed up is that? and why are they even thinking about it? Marvel comics are my favorite in the entertainment business for the simple fact of the violence and graphic nature… I really would hate to see Disney take this over and turn it into la la land and all butterflies and rainbows… Even though I like Disney like the next person, I dont feel these too names should ever mesh together!!!
I own both Disney and Marvel stock. I like this merger. I don’t love it but I do like it. If Disney can use Marvel to reach fans other than kiddies then great. Disney can also keep Marvel’s style as it is and still create a second brand like MARVEL SUPERHERO SQUAD to cater to their current market. I think this will be a good move for both companies. The richness of Marvel character backed by Disney’s marketing I expect my shares to soar, but only the future will tell the tale.
yeah id like to see punisher in a disney movie, him wasting everyone lol
