I loved Chevy in Vacation. I loved Vacation as a whole and all the cast. It’s a classic. Chevy’s ongoing Ego issues has become a problem. You can blame so much on writer’s but if you can’t carry the show by yourself, you’re nothing. Look at John Stewart or Conan O’Brien during the writer’s strike…they were able to do a lot with nothing. Chevy had 12 writers and looked nervous. I think he realized then he wasn’t nearly as funny on his own then became a hermit. A comback just isn’t going to happen at this point. If anything he should put the rest of his years into writing books. The writer on Community is Dan Harmon and the best thing he’s done is ‘Monster House’ so I think we know this show is going to be canceled soon. Read me now, believe me later.
I LOVE Chevy Chase. Foul Play cracked me up as a kid. Love Vacation, Caddyshack, Christmas Vacation, and I don’t know if this one has been mentioned, but when I saw Modern Problems on the big screen as a kid I almost died laughing. Just the craziest movie and it has Nell Carter in it.
The Community TV show looks sucky to me. Really sort of sad that Chevy isn’t the star. I bet he still has way good timing with the right materials. Something about Joe McHale in the lead just comes off fake. Almost like you expect him to start cracking some “Soup” jokes. Too bad the writers from the Soup didn’t have more input into Community. If they did I think the show would have actually been funny.

Not counting Fletch is absolutely criminal. I think it’s his best.
