Syfy is once again dipping its piggies into literary waters with what looks to be a post-punk sequel to Alice in Wonderland:
I was not a big fan of their Tin Man miniseries back in 2007, and part of me just wants to wait for the Tim Burton-Johnny Depp version next year, but this doesn’t look too bad. Plus, it’s got Tim Curry, Kathy Bates, and Harry Dean Stanton — so, at the very least, there will be something worth watching when it premieres this December.
How does it look to you? Worth devoting two nights to, or worthy of skipping entirely?

Ooh! Tim Curry! I don’t normally watch SCIFI (I’m still going to spell it that way), but I think I might tune in for this…
I had no interest until I saw “Tim Curry” – now I’m in!
I’m a little shocked to see the big stars in this show. I mean Syfy? It looks alright, but not sure if it’ll get me to click on the Syfy network :/
Okay, when I first read SyFy channel’s December miniseries was going to be their take on Alice in Wonderland, I thought….blah…then I saw the full imdb cast list and now this preview. Along with the names you mentioned we’ve got Matt Frewer! Andrew Lee Potts! Allesandro Juliani! Colm Meaney! Philip Winchester! uhm….YEAH!!!! I’m so there.
Since I LOVED Tin Man, I’ll probably check this out
i loved tinman. i own it and watch it a lot. i would totally watch alice too!
Looks like a good appetizer before the Burton/Depp main course.
I actually did enjoy Tin Man. Yeah, it wasn’t perfect, but it had some interesting concepts in it. So, I’m looking forward to this.
Cooooooooooooooooooooool
Tin Man was okay, but ONLY b/c it had the amazing Zooey Deschanel and Alan Cumming!!!! This looks like it could be interesting, but I’ll wait for the reviews before I watch it.
I found Zooey Deschanel’s acting to be non existent. Her “acting” consisted of near monotone lines and a perpetual look of surprise.
I agree; Zooey’s acting career will not act long if this is an indication of her talent.
It’s the kind of thing I’d usually be interested in, but I’ll prolly end up skipping it. I’ll wait for the Tim Burton movie.
would have liked to have seen an Alice in Wonderland movie with a take on it like last night on warehouse 13 (?) – wouldn’t it make sense that Alice was in fact delusional and possible psychotic?
look up “American McGee’s Alice”, then, for that take on the story
I actually really liked the “Tinman” miniseries. I’ll tune in for this, AND I’m looking forward to Tim Burton’s take on the story. There’s plenty of room for a variety of imaginations to tackle that world, no one version has to be the defining version!
I’ll watch because I totally love Tim Curry and Andrew Lee Potts.
Oooh, Connor from Primeval’s in it! Looks pretty cool actually. Although I really really hate Syfy’s new name and image.
With that cast, also including Matt Frewer, there’s no way I’d miss this. And I kind of liked Tinman, as well. So it’s an easy decision to watch.
